Personally im not THAT interested in dark matches because they re there purely for crowd filler but its wrestling content and if its good then ill watch it

Nice idea I guess but personally I have zero interest in seeing low key matches featuring weak talent not good enough to be part of the main show like Sonny Kiss and the Librarians. 9 hours of wrestling per week is enough for me, this is basically AEW's version of Main Event.

Just because you are in a dark match does not mean you arent good enough for weekly TV.

The Fiend for example has been wrestling alot of dark matches for WWE lately - so by your logic hes not good enough for weekly TV?

Thats an Adders level of stupidity that statement.

Dark main events in WWE are pretty much the best thing ever. Just sayin.

I'm thinking more of the old style dark matches which usually served as a try out for a new talent or a pre-show type match, those are the types of matches I have no interest in and that's what I got the impression AEW were talking about here.

But airing dark main events as in a marquee match put on just for the live crowd after the cameras finish rolling is a good idea that I'm sure a lot of fans will be in to. I probably wont watch as theres already too much wrestling on every week but its a good idea.

I'm ok with the premise of the show. NXT is essentially a well storied and produced series of try-out matches with new talent, and one of my favorite things about NXT is just being able to scout the talent myself and see whether or not I think they've got potential to be someone in the future.

Also getting in at the ground level with people who are obviously destined for greatness is an awesome experience too. Watching the rise of people like Asuka, Balor, Sami Zayn, the Four Horsewomen, Paige, Bobby Roode, Nakamura, Samoa Joe and others was awesome, and if you've only seen those people on the main roster and not NXT or anywhere else, there's no real reason to care about any of them except for Samoa Joe.

Point being if these dark matches are essentially AEW's version of NXT, along with a few dark main events? Then I'm totally down with that.

Alternatively, it could be pretty shitty and boring too, so... I'll just have to wait and see.

If I'm honest with myself the style of AEW's product is more the type of pro wrestling show I want to see, I just wish they had a few more talents I'm emotionally invested in.
I enjoy Jericho but hes very much in the twilight of his career now, I've never been a huge fan of Cody and I was never a great admirer of Moxley/Ambrose, great talents sure but just not guys who would make my personal top 20.
Omega at this point I need to see more of, hes great in the ring I can appreciate that but I'm not particularly liking his character at this point. I've never been a fan of the Young Bucks, to me they are a pair of bland spot monkeys.

At the moment the two members of the roster catching my interest the most are MJF and PAC.

I want AEW to succeed and they've started strong and I think as they go on and prove to the world they are a very viable alternative to WWE they will attract more talent as in WWE talent who are jaded with their role in the company or who are just looking for a more relaxed schedule, and certainly some of the top talent from companies like Impact.

Ok so this weeks Dynamite:

Straight off the bat you can see how hot the crowd is again - i have a feeling this is going to be an awesome show.

Young Bucks v Private Party is the first match on the card. First round of the tag team tournament and weve got some great vignettes building this up. This match has started great, some fantastic tag team moves.  Marq Quen with some unreal inside to out high flying moves and a 450 which i actually thought led to the 3 count it was that close. Wow a running powerbomb onto the steel ramp.
The crowd were hot for the scorpion deathlock shouting tap tap tap tap. This is awesome chants break out now - i have to admit i agree - its been a great match so far.
That suplex segment was incredible.
WOW Gina . juice followed by a shooting star press and the young bucks survive the closest of 2 counts.
Counter to the Meltzer driver and its over. Private Party advance.
What a fucking match that was.

Here comes Y2J and his friends. Theyve got a really great reaction from the crowd. He may be in the twilight of his career but Jericho is still super over.
Jericho kindly reminding everyone that he is the reason for the AEW ratings which draws a huge Thank You Jericho chant.
He has introduced the inner circle which was fantastic - i wont go into every detail but this was a fantastic promo.
Some nice references to The List.
Touching tribute to Eddie in there which drew a huge chant from the crowd.
Fantastic response to the We The People chants.
Just go out of you way to watch this promo - jericho was at his very very best.

Time for Havoc v Allin now in the #1 contenders match. This should be a fast paced brutal match if history is anything to go by.
Some really fast paced action and a great suplex to the outside from Havoc. Allin sells better than anyone ive ever seen - and that takes some doing.
A fantastic stunner and then the coffin drop for the win.

We've now got Briestly and Sukura v Riho and Baker. This was a really decent match and added to the tease of Briestly and Baker having a proper long term feud. Baker picking up the win with the submission.

Spears v Moxley up now. PAC has joined the team on commentary. Huge pop for the Mox.
Justin Roberts doing the "John" like he used to do for John Cena - well played.
PAC fantastic early on asking why he isnt getting a title shot before the likes of Darby or Havoc.
Moxley was super over throughout this whole match. Blanchard was fantastic in the manager role with coaching and typical ring side antics.
There was a huge death valley driver sort of move into the corners of the barriers which looked brutal from Spears to Mox.
This was a fantastic match, the best i think ive seen from both of these guys. Some close near falls and hard hitting action.
Mox with the paradigm shift for the win.

Here is Omega on the stage with a barbed wire bat and a barbed wire broom (the cleaner yaaaaay)
PAC with a huge chair shot to the back of Omegas head to end the segment and build the tension between the 3 of these guys.

Dustin and Hangman v Jericho and Guevara is our main event. I love how Hager has accompanied Jericho to the ring.
This picked up real fast with Dustin taking it to Jericho right from the off.
Page seems to be getting more over.
Guevara is so athletic hes really really good in the ring.
Page has just hit a huge discus lariat on Guevara - Wow
Hager with a really clever interference that got some great heat.
Judas Effect and its game over. Another really great entertaining match. The crowd loved that especially Dustins offence which was typical of his style over the years.

Post match beatdown on Dustin now. Page tries to help but Hager is there to stop it but then a chair to Hagers face ends that confrontation.

Lights Out!!

Its Cody - Huge cross rhodes to Guevara. LAX now hit the ring and take out Cody.  Here comes MJF now to a big reaction.

Wow a huge tease that he was going to take Codys head off only for him to make the save to a huge ovation.

MJF rings out around the arena. Jericho and LAX start the beat down again and now we have the elite hitting the ring. Jericho tries to bale but Allin skates down the ramp and hits a flying knee into some offence.

Great segment to end the show as Jericho tells Cody and Allin hes going to beat them both and refers to Allin as a bitch.

Another fantastic show.

If they keep this going the ratings will soar - absolutely fantastic.

TNT still hasn't uploaded the show to their streaming network. Getting annoyed here...

I enjoyed the show again this week but I still fail to see what they are doing that is vastly better than anything WWE does.

Jericho's promo was great and I enjoyed The Street Profits lite..... I mean Private Party vs The Young Bucks, that was a really good match.

Didn't care much for the Women's match, Mox vs Spears was pretty watchable, Allin vs Havoc was decent.

The main event was solid enough and I enjoyed the angles that took place through the show involving Omega, PAC and Mox as well as the stuff with Cody and Jericho and co.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far but I'm still not fully on board with AEW.

The Inner Circle thing is really just another nWo to me. I mean, I don't feel like it's a total ripoff and they're just rehashing shit except in the very broadest of senses, but yeah, they're going to need to make sure they're not dominating the whole show or it's going to be nWo all over again.

I'm not at all into AEW's women's division. They need some real characters because right now, especially as they hold off on showcasing women like Awesome Kong, the division is just boring. I won't turn on the division 2 episodes in, but they gotta figure out how to get some momentum going for them and soon or people will start turning on the division, and treating them like the piss-break WWE's women's division used to be.

AEW is going to have to really work on their storytelling, and the win-loss recordkeeping is a great tool for doing so, but when you get to guys like Moxley who really appears to not give a shit, then you need something even more compelling.

I AM glad to see that Moxley and Jericho are not aligned with one another. Looking back at it now, it's really kind of surprising that Jake Hager & Jon Moxley weren't Jericho's 2 mystery partners; the nWo stink would have been even stronger had they gone that route.
