They now need to book her as she was booked in NXT.
Shes an awesome wrestler and had some fantastic matches- sometimes she squashed people but more often than not she put the other women over as having a chance to beat her and allowed them to get over in the match too. There are tons of feuds and angles they could do and she's perfectly capable of working face or heel so she's a Great champion to have in my opinion. As one example, the storyline with Ember when she returns writes itself

Io Shirai and Asuka is a matchup in which I cannot find any documentation of in singles competition. Kana vs Mio? Yes a huge series and tag matches of Kana vs Io and the stable of Kana, Io and Mio are all big, popular storylines in Japan. But Io vs Kana? Nothing. WWE needs to start pushing the fuck out of Io so Asuka vs Io means something because the matches would be out of this world.

100% agree with you
For me Io is the best female wrestler in the world and Asuka is not far behind Unreal series of matches, actually would be worth waiting until Wrestlemania to do it - it could be that good and that big But we all know she'll batter everyone and then Ronda will return or Charlotte will decide she wants that title ....

If WWE were to start travelling again soon enough, it would be a fantastic headlining event to have Io vs Asuka in Japan. Depending on the build, Io would be the perfect person to take the title from Asuka, too.

I agree Asuka vs Io Shirai would be a dream match but it would depend on where and when it happens. If it was booked to happen at a regular WWE PPV or on Raw it would be difficult as how would you build it? Neither woman can really cut a good promo. It wouldn't be impossible as WWE could create a storyline using high production video packages with both women talking in Japanese with subtitles perhaps giving the match a big fight feel but it's hard to imagine Vince McMahon getting behind that idea.
The best places for the match to happen would be in NXT or if WWE tour Japan. Asuka seems to be getting a strong push now she's got the Raw Women's Title, people complain about how she's been used but she's now the only female grand slam championship winner. I would like to see them book her more they way she was in NXT but that is not the Vince way, I think he prefers Asuka to show more personality with her goofy dancing and her shouting and rambling in Japanese, but they could find a middle ground between this and her NXT character. I do feel she works better as a heel rather than a babyface character.
