Bobby Lashley On Raw

Lashley was awesome in TNA as a member of the Beatdown Clan where MVP would do the verbal stuff, it’s a shame they couldn’t get MVP in alongside Lashley in WWE but I think they would need to be heels for it to work and not sure WWE want to go in that direction with Lashley.

I could be wrong of course and a heel turn could be in the works and these random matches he’s doing at the moment could be to get fans reacquainted with him and to put over his strength and power.

A heel Lashley with someone doing his promo work for him would be quite something.

Everyone going on about him being a big signing ... can someone please explain to me why he is a big signing?

The video package of his amateur wrestling, Military service, previous WWE stint and MMA career was decent and a good way to get him over with fans who aren’t familiar with him, but the sit down interview with Renee Young where he discussed his sisters was one of the cringiest things I’ve ever seen.

Using video packages to hype Lashley is smart given his athletic credentials but why would any fans really care about uninteresting childhood stories?? Especially as Lashley isn’t the greatest promo guy and his delivery of the stories wasn’t particularly strong, he came across a bit awkward.

WWE should continue to push his athletic background but portray him as a bad-ass not a devoted family man telling cheesy stories about his older sisters.
Lashley’s promo work should always be very short and sweet.

Michael Cole introduces a video package about Bobby Lashley. We see old footage of Bobby Lashley's amateur wrestling career as a child and then as a Champion. It covers Lashley enlisting in the military and also joining their wrestling team. It mentions Lashley getting an Olympic try-out, but injuring his knee and not being able to. We see footage from Lashley signing with WWE and then winning championships and headlining WrestleMania. We see some still photos of Lashleys professional MMA fights, where he has a 15-2 record. We fast forward to Lashley's recent return to WWE after 10 years. - We then go to a pre-taped interviw with Renee Young and Bobby Lashley. Lashley tells some stories about his childhood and growing up with his sisters. At the end of the interview, Lashley looks into the camera and says he wants to tell his sisters he loves them.

In the space of a few short minutes they did more to build his character than every week since he's been back combined.
