He got a big face pop even though it was widely reported he was backstage and not even being hidden away to surprise other talent when he shows up.
I guess judging by how much on the same page Lesnar and Heyman were, we are to forget about their issues the last time we saw them together.
Noticeable was Brock wearing a plain black t shirt. No sponsors paying him to show off their logo?

Good work by WWE keeping Lesnar’s appearance hidden until just before the event, I didn’t know he was going to be there when I watched so it was a welcome surprise.
He’s expected to work the second Saudi show in November so I wonder what the plan is for Super Showdown? Maybe a one on one rematch between Strowman and Reigns which will see Braun win then he can face Brock in Saudi Arabia? I really don’t want another Roman Reigns/Brock Lesnar match. |

I don't get his booking. He's a heel but taking out three jobbers few care about is only going to get him cheered more. Brock has always been good at comedy so watching him doing breathing exercises was pretty funny. Even more funny was his jew reference to Heyman

Enjoyed his segment, having him squash the expendable Mahal made sense as it was a good way to have Brock get physical and it made storyline sense with Mahal mentioning how he was supposed to face Lesnar last year.
They should give Brock more mic time, trouble is I think he’s old school and works best improvising his stuff from some bullet points, he doesn’t do well with scripted stuff. |

Brock was my highlight of Raw this week for being booked not only as very dominant, but also having Heyman shocked by what he did and apologising later in the night. When a heel is saying sorry for someone going too far it adds to a segment. He's having his first Smackdown match in 15 years and going for the title on a new channel that's paid a billion dollars for the product. Having the challenger booked this way in the show before that happens has enhanced the title match. Dominic is only a teenager and so i'm sure he could have said no to making Brock look a monster if he wanted to.

Fine booking of Lesnar, he looked on great form and really beat the crap out of Rey and his kid, this is what Brock is good at what he does looks realistic and he seems to genuinely enjoy hurting people.
Good for Dominik for doing the angle and selling the beating the like he did, this gives Lesnar a ton of heat going into his title match on Friday, its just what he needed coming off a loss to Rollins. |

I'm not sure what the purpose of it was this week on Raw, but his attack on Rey Mysterio was excellently done.
I'm assuming Dominic is training to be a wrestler because he took some huge bumps. I had seen something online about WWE maybe changing their minds about putting the Smackdown belt on Lesnar or in fact even having him on the blue brand, maybe this could have been a way to get him out of the title shot. It could also just have been done to get across just how dominant he is Either way it was fucking excellent i must say

Is Lesnar now a babyface? An heel champion wanting to enter the Royal Rumble match at number 1 isn't heelish. Could he win the match? Then I guess he could be heelish in saying that because he's no contender he's going to have the night of Wrestlemania off. I don't think Brock will be eliminated quickly, so it should be his longest match he's been involved in since his return.

I like this and I can see its tactical booking. The Royal Rumble will be a long event with a stacked card, it can live without a World title match. Having Brock in the Rumble match creates all sorts of possibilities, it allows someone from Smackdown or NXT to start a programme with him which would provide a fresh match for Wrestlemania and perhaps elevate a talent into the main event at the same time.
I would love to see them set someone up like Keith Lee or Matt Riddle to challenge Lesnar, I just hope this isn't a way to begin a feud with Brock and Tyson Fury or to continue his programme with Cain Velasquez. Edited by Fletch - 12/January/2020 at 09:23 |
