Sad to hear of another wrestling death happening so soon. He of course was one of the biggest attractions in the southern territories. Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, was in the Atlanta booking office for a while, and also worked for Jim Cornette in Smoky Mountain as the on-screen commissioner and sometimes wrestled. His matches with Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Sterling Golden (who went on to become Hulk Hogan), among others solidified his legacy as one of the greatest performers the industry will ever see, with (surprisingly enough) his most recent match being this past year at the age of 79. His sons Brad, Steve, Scott and Brian got into the business and all had successful runs, thus making the Armstrongs one of the greatest and most storied wrestling families. Rest well.
