December 5, 2017 - Combat Entertainment announced their 1st draft pick for the annual Ticket Wars to be none other the iconic, arguably biggest star in professional wrestling, Stone Cold Steve Austin.  The Texas Rattlesnake did not attend any press conferences to commemorate the event, but HBO Sports reached out to Stone Cold Steve Austin at his home in Texas.

The Rattlesnake was not expecting HBO Sports representative Jon Frankel, and ensured he let him know about it...

Cameras roll to Jon Frankel, HBO Sports correspondent, knocking on the front door of Stone Cold Steve Austin whilst introducing audiences to the segment.

Jon Frankel: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Jon Frankel standing by at the house of the first signee to Combat Entertainment's "Legends Among Us".  An event coming to you live from Madison Square Garden.  That man is none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin.  We're here to get a word with Mr. Austin on his draft to Combat Entertainment.

After a few pregnant pauses between incessant knocks, the door swings open violently, as the Rattlesnake storms out, beer in hand.

Steve Austin: Can't you take a damn hint?!  Ya knock 20 damn times and no one comes to the door, ain't nobody wanna see ya... (Pauses, noticing the camera crew) The hell is this?

Jon Frankel: Good evening, Mr. Austin, I'm Jon Frankel from HBO Sports and we're hoping to get your thoughts on your recently being drafted to Combat Entertainment as their #1 draft pick...

Steve Austin: ....(pauses...blinks...looks at the camera...looks back at Frankel.  Frankel extends a hand, but cautiously pulls it away after recognizing Austin's death glare) What?

Frankel: Mr. Austin I was hoping to get your...

Steve Austin: What?

Frankel: Mr. Aust...

Steve Austin: WHAT?!  (With fist clenched, Austin takes a dangerous step forward.  Frankel immediately stumbles backwards whilst keeping the microphone extended)  You come to my house, uninvited, with a van full of jackasses with crappy equipment, and you expect me to answer some questions?

Frankel: Well, I...

Austin: SHUT UP!  (Points a finger at Frankel)  I got a question for you, son.  Do you enjoy a good ass whopping?  What?  I said: do you enjoy a good ass whopping?  Cause the way I see it, the only reason you'd be stupid enough to come to my home uninvited, would be to receive a world-class ass whopping.  Is that what you want?  'Cause, hell son, I'd more than obliged beat your ass half-way to San Duskee after this here beer (swigs the beer can in his hand, before crushing it and throwing it at one of the cameramen).

Frankel: Sir, I didn't...I just thought you'd want to say something regarding being drafted...

Austin: ...and you thought it was smart to come to my front door?  You thought it was safe?  (shaking his head, as veins begin to form at the temples of his bald skull)  Boy, I just broke my best damn hunting rifle this morning, and stubbed my damn toe on the way to the door - I'm fixing to take some damn aggression out on something and your ass is the closest thing.

(Frankel begins to back away, so far so that he is close to the Van's door.  Austin shoves one cameraman out of his way and strategically opens the other Van door - staring at Frankel through his door.)

Austin: But, look at 'cha.  You're pathetic!  You ain't worth my damn time.  (Pauses and looks at the camera) But since ya took the damn trouble in putting your own ass in danger to get a little word from yours truly, I'll do my good deed for the day and give ya three questions.

Frankel: Three questions?

Austin: (Pauses) That's two now (thrusting two fingers to Frankel), ya dumb son of a bitch.  Now ask!

Frankel: Ahem (fixing his collar and cautiously reaching his microphone towards Austin), okay, firstly - what are your thoughts on becoming the #1 draft pick for Combat Entertainment?

Steve Austin: My thoughts?  My thoughts are that Combat Entertainment just caught the biggest damn fish they could catch.  They just got the toughest son of a bitch in the entire world to headline their show.  While the other guys in this damn league grabbed a bunch of scrubs that couldn't lace my boots, Combat Entertainment saw fit to start with the big guns and grabbed Stone Cold Steve Austin to bring a big ol' can of whoop ass to Madison Square Garden.  (Pause and tilts his head)  Sure sounds like a smart business plan, don't it?

Frankel: (Clears his throat) Indeed, no argument here.  My last question is if you have any plans or any words for Combat Entertainment and their future drafts?

Steve Austin: I got a few words, kid, but ain't none of them gonna make air if I say 'em.  AAAAH, ya know what, I'll say a few nicer words.  Nice as I can get.  (Grabs the camera and directs it towards his boot) You see that?  That is a size 13 steel-toe boot, and any man whose fixing to step into the same arena as Stone Cold Steve Austin is looking to have that boot stompin' a mudhole through their ass and walkin' it dry.

Austin pulls the camera back up to his face.

Austin: Rest assured that when Stone Cold Steve Austin enters any ring, he ain't there to make friends.  My bread and butter is kicking somebody's ass.  And it don't matter who it is, when it is, what time it is, how many beers I've had before, if I woke up on the right side or the left side of the bed, if I got bad gas, or if I forgot to put on cologne in the morning - any day of the week, any time of the day, any condition of the damn weather, Stone Cold Steve Austin will be the baddest son of a bitch in that locker room.

Austin: And if anybody wants to test that theory then...hell, I ain't hard to find.  You just bring your little carcass over to the boys at Combat Entertainment and lay the challenge down, and Stone Cold will be there and will beat your ass.  And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so!

Austin: (points offscreen at Frankel) Now you and your jackasses got about ten seconds to hop into that damn van and get off my property, or I will give you somethin' to piss your pants about....

(As Austin storms back into his house, he audibly shouts from one to ten...but at five, the van and all of it's crew are far from Austin's home...)

Goldberg hints at Dream Bout with the Rattlesnake

NEW YORK, NY - Combat Entertainment held a special press conference for their 2nd round draft pick announcement in Bill Goldberg.  Goldberg came out to an extremely loud crowd of about 1,000 fans who packed the office lobby of Combat Entertainment.  Goldberg commented on signing with Combat Entertainment, stating that he was proud to sign with the Combat team, but was most interested by their 1st round draft pick - Stone Cold Steve Austin.

When asked about the man chosen one round before him and his first message to anyone apart of the Divide & Conquer event, Goldberg responded.

"Seems to me like the Rattlesnake might need to be humbled," Goldberg commented matter-of-factly.  "I've been known to humble a few big mouthes in my time in the ring.  And he seems long overdue for it."

When asked if CE will be announcing a potential dream bout between the two goliaths of professional wrestling, Goldberg responded: "I'll take on anyone they put in front of me.  If it happens to be Austin - I'd be happy to spear his ass in half."

"Now, I'm not the one booking this show.  But I think I speak for a lot of people when I say - the Monday Night Wars never got it's final showdown," Goldberg said, as the 1,000 in attendance came unglued from their seats.  "And whenever I'm in one place, he's in a total other.  So, whether we're set to face-off - I've got an invitation for Austin.  Boy - I don't know if you've heard this or not, but Combat Entertainment has it's 3rd round draft pick conference in about a week.  I just so happen to be buying a ticket to NY the previous night.   Maybe, you'll put your big boy pants on and hop on a plane yourself.  And MAYBE...just maybe...I'll see you there..."

Combat Entertainment closed the show by announcing that no matches are going to be made official until all of their draft picks are selected.  However, the CEO of Combat Entertainment Johnny Musa did state, with a smirk, "But, it's hard not to recognize a dream match when you see one..."

Austin and Goldberg come to blows before CE press conference

Combat Enterainment was scheduled to hold their 3rd press conference to show off it's newly erected "Divide and Conquer" ring and arena set-up and to announce it's 3rd round draft pick.  However, as the press settled in their assigned seats alongside front-row Combat Entertainment team members, Bill Goldberg arrived to sit in the front-row.  Press immediately peppered Goldberg with questions as to why he was there - to which Goldberg coldly responded, "I'm waiting for someone..."

Goldberg didn't have to wait long.  As CE CEO Johnny Musa started the conference with an introduction to the new Combat Entertainment ring and "Divide and Conquer" poster reveal - Stone Cold Steve Austin bursted through the press conference and immediately flung a chair into the back of Bill Goldberg's head.  Goldberg stumbled forward, but caught himself before falling to the ground.  Almost immediately, Goldberg ripped his shirt off and began barreling through staff members in order to grab Austin.

Security pried the two men apart before blows could escalate, all the while Austin screamed out, "You callin' me out, son?  I'll beat your ass every day this week, twice on Sun-dee!" to which Goldberg responded, "I'm going to f**king KILL you!".

it took approximately 16 security guards 30 minutes to pry the two men apart and ensure they were on complete opposite ends of the arena.

Johnny Musa apologized for the interruption and the delay to the conference, making it clear that he would need to speak with both men before the conference could resume.  As of this writing, the conference is expected to be on a one-hour delay.  From which, the CEO of Combat Entertainment will announce the 3rd and 4th round draft picks to the promotion's inaugural Divide and Conquer show.

Hart's challenge leads to Heenan's reveal

After the tumultuous interruptions for Combat Entertainment's 3rd press conference, the event kicked off with the huge reveal of Combat Entertainment's 3rd round draft pick - Bret "the Hitman" Hart.  Bret Hart came out to a huge ovation from the New York attendees.

"I'm proud to be back in New York City, and I'm proud to have the opportunity to wrestle at Madison Square Garden again," Hart said with a wide smile.  "You know, I've wrestled in this building many times before.  In fact, I wrestled...and beat...one of the guys who was out here earlier - Stone Cold Steve Austin."

Bret paused as the crowd let out an emphatic, "oooooh!".

"I also beat another guy who was out here tonight, Bill Goldberg," Hart said through an arrogant smirk.  "The reason I say that isn't to rub salt in an old wound.  But I've been asked if me coming into Combat Entertainment was my way of getting a rematch with Stone Cold Steve Austin....or if it was my way to beat the crap out of Bill Goldberg for nearly ending my career."

"Now, while I'd love to get in the ring with either of those two and tap them out all over again," Bret wipes his hair from his brow as he grins a Cheshire Cat-like grin.  "I never got anywhere in my career by fighting the same fights over and over again.  The reason I succeeded the way that I did - was because YOU, the fans, motivated me to push myself to things I never thought I'd be able to do."

"When I was wrestling with Jim Neidhart, winning the Tag Team Titles, you pushed me to be greater.  Then, when I was wrestling legends in singles competition, like Roddy Piper, and winning my first singles championship - YOU pushed me even harder..."

"You pushed me all the way to the main event of HUGE events, beating top names, and being recognized, world-wide, as the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be," Hart said to a standing ovation.  "So, it's only right that I keep pushing myself to something new, something fresh.  That's why, in whatever match Combat Entertainment puts on me at Divide and Conquer - I only ask one thing: I don't want to face a guy that I've faced before.  I want to face a new challenger.  I want to face someone who is going to push me to limits that I never thought I'd hit.  I want the best of the best to step into this ring with me."

...."LOOK...NO...FURTHER."

Hart's enlightening speech was soon cut off by the debuting Bobby "the Brain" Heenan.  Heenan's sharp tongue was in full force, as he started by saying.

"Thank god, you finally gave me a segway.  I was just about ready to call the 9-1-1 to stop you from killing these people from boredom," Heenan quipped as he paraded amidst the press.  "Hey, you (points at the camera man), you better get my good side.  (Straightening his tie and pointing at Bret Hart) You just made the biggest mistake of your life.  It just so happens that I have signed onto Combat Entertainment and I have signed on THE hottest free agent in professional wrestling history."

"This guy is the greatest uncrowned world champion in the history of this sport.  BIGGER than Rick Rude.  BIGGER than Mr. Perfect.  BIGGER than anyone you've ever faced in your life.  So, if you really want a challenge, Hitman, you're going to get one."

Heenan than introduced his newest and only client - ANTONIO CESARO.  Cesaro didn't say much, allowing Heenan to lay the gauntlet down.  However, one quip from Cesaro did turn Bret a bit sour.

Cesaro smiled, "I do everything better than you, Bret.  I even do the Sharpshooter better than you."

Bret Hart soured and stared at Cesaro, but calmly responded: "Do you want to test that theory?  Because, you seem to fit the criteria I've been looking for - you're talented, your a challenger that I've never faced...and you've got a big mouth that needs to get shut...and a weasel that needs to get put down."

Bret commented to CEO Johnny Musa that they'll have to talk about making things official, but as Hart quipped one last thing, "But, if you really want to prove to me that you've got what it takes to get in the ring with the best there is, was, and ever will be -- then let's really test that theory.  Let's see if you can go the distance..."

"Let's see if you can out last me for 30 minutes...in an IRONMAN MATCH."

The attendees went unglued, as Cesaro tore his sunglasses off and muttered a few words to Heenan.  Bobby Heenan quickly snatched the microphone from his client and stated, "Listen, we'll talk about the particulars when the time is right.  Have your people call my people, and if the proposal is good enough - you've got yourself a match.  Let's go, champ."

With that, no match was made official - however, the buzz was created.  Bret Hart laid an open challenge that seemingly was answered in seconds...or was it?  Bret has added a stipulation into the mix...one that doesn't seem to have Bobby Heenan all too eager.

Goldberg demands revenge
Source: CombatEntertainment.com

Combat Entertainment recently released backstage footage from the recent chaotic press conference held last week.  The conference wherein Stone Cold Steve Austin made a surprising appearance and laid Bill Goldberg out temporarily with a steel chair shot to the head.  The conference resulted in a brawl that had to be broken up before fists connected between Goldberg and Austin.

The footage shown on combatentertainment.com revealed a tension-filled stand-off between Bill Goldberg and CEO Johnny Musa.  Goldberg, who is seen still being pried back by around 10 security personnel, is being talked down by the CEO.  In the footage, Musa attempts to calm Goldberg down, only to get shoved harshly by the former WCW World Champion.

Goldberg shouted, "Don't give me that political bullsh--t!  He wants a fight?  I'll give him a god d--n fight!"

Musa attempts to explain that the company hasn't made plans to announce matches until the draft is completed, speaking to Goldberg's competitor mindset with the hard sell, "We might draft someone that you'd rather face, someone you never faced before outside of Austin."

Goldberg responds by grabbing Musa by the tie.  Security attempts to pry him off, but Musa calls off the guards and listens, visibly shaken by the man's brute strength.  "Let me make this clear for you - I don't give a s--t about any new challengers.  That son of a b---h made this personal.  He wants a fight?  I'll give him a fight.  Sign the damn match!"

Musa nods his head, "If you're sure, I'll make it happen..."

Goldberg shoves Musa away and responds by shouting, "I'm gonna kill 'em, Johnny.  I'm gonna kill his punk ass."

Combat Entertainment has yet to get word from Stone Cold Steve Austin on the challenge.  The website also reports that they have not heard back from CEO Johnny Musa on the situation since the event.  When asking a spokesperson of CE, they responded, "At this moment in time, Mr. Musa has no comment on the matter."

CombatEntertainment.com held it's next live press conference to announce it's recent free agency signings as a result of the latest rounds in the Ticket Wars draft.  However, the press conference turned into a Q&A in it's early moments regarding the CE's CEO's statements regarding signing matches at the end of the drafts - rather than iteratively as other promotions are.

Johnny Musa, CEO of Combat Entertainment, was asked if his stance still stood after the recent events involving Bill Goldberg/Steve Austin and Bret Hart/Cesaro respectively.  Musa responded, "I'd be a poor leader if I didn't adapt to situations.  My original goal was to assess all of the talent we procured and sign the biggest and best matches to date.  What I've come to learn is that I work in an industry where talent's pride makes planning kind of hard."

"To be clear, I knew what I got into when I took on some of my early draft round picks - but I obviously didn't know how far things would go.  Needless to say, I'm consulting with all parties and we'll have an announcement regarding the Divide & Conquer card shortly.

---

In other news, the promotion announced it's recent signings of Awesome Kong, Minoru Suzuki, and the "star" of the show John Cena.  Combat Entertainment stated that Kong and Suzuki were unable to attend the conference due to other obligations, but would be apart of future announcements.

John Cena was announced to the press and the fans in New York City, and received a resounding amount of jeers.  Before Cena could even say one word, the polarizing main eventer was showered with chants of "CENA SUCKS", with small hints of "LET'S GO CENA" in between.  Cena took a moment to collect himself, smirking towards the hatred that poured towards him, and making an off-mic comment to Johnny Musa.

"It's so good to hear a rowdy New York crowd again," Cena said with a smile, as he normally does to placate the crowd.  The New York audience, however, would not fall to the blatant "ass-kissery" and jeered him even louder.

"New York has so much history in our great sport.  It's where legends did battle and where names were etched in stone as hall of famers.  Moments like never before took place in Madison Square Garden, moments that are cemented in the minds of fans around the world...," Cena's diatribe would soon be cut-off by the astronomical amount of boos that came his way.  They rang so loud that even the microphone's audio could not speak over them for a moment.

Cena paused, still flashing his arrogant smile to the crowd, unphased by their taunts.

"And 2018, another moment hits New York.  John Cena enters the combat zone," Cena soaks in the jeers before continuing.  "I know that most of my career has been in one place...it just so happens that that one place housed the greatest competitors of all time.  Men like John Bradshaw Layfield (Fans: BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!), Triple H (Fans: BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!), and Stone Cold Steve Austin (Fans: YEAAHHHHHHHH!!!!)...."

He paused...

"And I beat them ALL"

The crowd showered more jeers as Cena continued.

"Don't get me wrong, Combat Entertainment has signed some spectacular competition.  But none of them are on my level," more jeers echoed, as cameras caught a scoff from Johnny Musa.  "I ran this business for more than 10 years and I'm still running the game today.  John Cena's the biggest franchise player in the business and, damn it, I'm still the top dog in this yard.  Ain't nobody knockin' me off, jack, without a damn good fight."

"...you know (Pauses as the crowd continues to jeer) I'm glad we started our conversation the way we did.  I'm glad you all made your voices heard.  You see, to have your voices heard, you need to scream at the top of your lungs.  But when you're John Cena...sometimes...(unzips his coat, revealing a T-Shirt with two hand symbols...a middle finger, and a finger pointed at the crowd)...you ain't gotta say a thing."

"I am John Cena, I am the star of this show, and I am the biggest name in the business.  To anybody in the Combat zone that wants some...COME GET SOME!"

Suzuki sends message to the Combat Zone

Minoru Suzuki, a former AJPW Triple Crown Champion and GHC Champion, spoke with Japan's Yahoo Sports on his recent draft signing with Combat Entertainment.  Minoru seemed apathetic to his new North American venture, stating that while Combat Entertainment now becomes a legitimate combat zone with his signing, "the competition is weak for someone like me."

When pressed further, Minoru pulled no punches in his criticisms of not only Combat Entertainment, but North American wrestling in general.

"Steve Austin, Bill Goldberg, Bret Hart...who are these people?  They are nothing.  They are men who came to Japan maybe once or twice in their careers, and ran away.  Do you know why they ran away?  Because they fear the competition - they fear me.  They stay safe in America, where their matches are less violent than a pillow fight between children.  Meanwhile, I swim with sharks, and come back with meat to eat.  I kill my opponents in the ring and change their lives forever.  Because of me, grown men cry themselves to sleep.  They walk with a limp for the rest of their lives because of me.  They feel pains in area that I selected until the day they die.  I scar the sharks and eat them alive.

...so...," he says with a sigh as he leans back in his chair and tilts his head, "Why would I be excited to shoot fish in a barrel, when I've been slaying sea monsters for over 10 years, eh?"

Yahoo Sports continued to press Suzuki for more of his opinions, asking who he'd like to face in Combat Entertainment.  Suzuki smirked slightly with his response.

"That's tough to say - who really is worth my time?  No one yet," he said as he wiped a hand over his face.  "However, while he may not be worth my time, I see one man who needs to be humbled.  He represents everything wrong with America.  He is the symbol of why I hate Americans.  The fact that this man is so highly revered sickens me..."

"Oi!  John Cena! You have a big mouth for a man with such small balls.  Do you think that your battles impress me?  They are beneath me, YOU are beneath me.  You say you are the best in puroresu - why?  Who have you beaten that I couldn't have killed in seconds?  What have you done to make you think that you are so great?"  Suzuki rhetorically asked.  "Maybe you are great in America, because the competition is weak.  But in Japan, we eat your legends like they are young boys.  They are inferior to me and you are inferior to me.  And normally, people like you, I ignore them...

...but..."

He leans forward towards the camera, "It would bring me great pleasure and joy to watch you get on your knees in front of your country and beg me to stop torturing you."

The Yahoo Sports team emphatically asked if this was a challenge by Suzuki, to which he responded, "It is not a challenge...because HE is not a challenge.  It is an offered mercy killing.  Oi, Cena, if you humble yourself in front me and get on your knees - I'll make it quick...if I'm in a good mood."

Combat Entertainment and John Cena have yet to comment on the matter.

The Amazon vs. The Glamazon

Combat Entertainment has announced the 1st official bout for the DIVIDE & CONQUER event in Madison Square Garden - Awesome Kong vs. Beth Phoenix.  Both signed female competitors have remained silent since their draft to the roster and have yet to comment on it's announcement.

This match is a dream match for many fans in North America, as both females dominated their respective federation's roster with their sheer power and force for years.  Kong, who ruled over the TNA's Knockouts roster, held the Knockouts Championship for over 300+ days.  Kong was trained in the dojos of Japan, by greats such as Aja Kong.  Meanwhile, Beth Phoenix stampeded through the WWE's Divas roster, holding the WWE Women's Championship 3-times and the WWE Diva's Championship once.

Kong and Phoenix only came close to battle once in 2011, when they briefly shared the same locker room for less than a year.  Sadly, the bout never came to be.

There are very few dream bouts left in women's wrestling that will actually see the light of day, but this is one that will come to life.  Phoenix has never faced a behemoth like Kong, typically facing opponents smaller than she.  Meanwhile, Kong may have never faced someone as powerful as Phoenix.  One is not familiar with facing giants, while the other is not familiar to facing women equal to her strength.  Undoubtedly, this will bring an interesting dynamic to THE AMAZON -VS- THE GLAMAZON match.

Goldberg vs. Austin made official!

CombatEntertainment.net - The Divide & Conquer event has officially signed it's assumed main event of the evening in a dream match fans never thought possible.  WCW's franchise player and streak-holder Bill Goldberg will face off with WWF's Attitude Era leader "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH.  Johnny Musa revealed a live broadcast will be held on the website, wherein the duo will be interviewed via satellite about the reveal.  Both men were said to have signed their contracts within seconds, and seemed unphased by the addition of the No Holds Barred stipulation.

Johnny Musa commented, "No Holds Barred seems like the perfect match type for this type of fight.  After recent events, it's clear that both of these men want to rip each other apart.  I don't want to see a situation where a match ends due to Disqualification - I want to see a winner, as do we all.  Let me make this clear - this match will have a winner.  There are no time limits, there are barely any rules.  Someone will have to be pinned, submitted, or knocked out for the bell to ring for a winner.  They wanted to fight...Combat Entertainment will give them that fight".

In other news, the promotion has also revealed updated poster art for the recently revealed Amazon vs. Glamazon battle, which can be seen below and on the company's event site.
