How legit worried is everyone? I sincerely hope our American posters are not in the 38% that it's been reported won't touch Corona lager incase they catch it.
So tomorrow measures are in place for the Football where we will have over 13,000 people there carrying God knows what, but the young kid mascots can't have a photo with the captains and officials in the middle of the pitch..... 67.7 million people in the United Kingdom and 163 cases so whilst I am weary and it should be taken very seriously with washing hands and the rest of the advice, the way the press go on about it for the extremely tiny percentage of the population currently affected, it's like they are trying to make people over panic whilst they fill their paper with pages where Brexit news used to be.

(Update) 4 confirmed cases in my state all have been founded but not hospitalized. The biggest problem is people going into panic mode and causing a shortage of respiratory masks- which is negatively affecting hospitals (masks that by and large have no use for this kind of virus). Usually public panic is worse than the virus itself.

I work in retail. Our corporate headquarters has been sending out emails telling employees to use proper handwashing procedures and to stay home when sick. But given that the majority of employees are part-time, they don't get paid sick leave (or health insurance). So most come to work sick anyways because they can't afford to not get paid. Where I'm at influenza is wide spread. Some nearby small towns had to cancel school because so many kids are sick. Statewide, there's been 1 confirmed case of COVID-19 here in Wisconsin. But it's coronavirus that's dominating the headlines.
I've heard some of the stores in town are out of hand sanitizers. The run on masks as even effected hardware stores, and those dust masks they carry are useless against viruses. |

I kind of agree with Heel. Yes it might be another strain of illness, but it's still just that. We're not talking about some hemoragic or flesh eating disease.

18 confirmed in Scotland last I checked and the closest one to my area is about 30 miles or so but I expect my area to get a case any day now.....However I am in South Sudan atm and so far Zero cases but I do worry for my Wife and Son, not in case they get it they are heatlhy enough to fight it off naturally but more the fact they are having a hard time buying TP and soap. There are vultures fucking stocking up on TP and Soap and posting it on a local FB page for my area a pack of 9 Morrisons own brand shit paper for 12 quid and Hand sanitiser of a bar of Imperial Leather for like 3 quid a pop as the supermarkets and anywhere else that was selling TP has been cleared out

My wife went to the store to get a small bottle of bleach to do some laundry. Apparently there's been a big run on bleach as well. All that was left were gallon jugs of the "no-splash" formula. Which is twice the cost of regular.

This is getting bigger but in some cases ridiculous. Up until yesterday this was just something I heard of on the side. Then today there were several "shit got real" moments; both for things I follow and for my own daily life. All in the span of today...
* The National Basketball Association (NBA) suspended all games and the season after a member of the Utah Jazz got the virus. * Tom Hanks and his wife announced they both have the virus. * The university where I work at now wants to close at 5 p.m. each day, making it much harder for me as I usually am working at night. Oh, and they want to gradually transition from in person classes to online.
