For me he is the greatest talker in the history of the business. Not many guys can hold a crowd entertained on their own for as long as him. What else made him so good was that some of his best promos were done with lesser talent (Hurricane, Coach, Lilian). When he did his rock concerts as a heel, it was some of the most entertaining Raw moments ever. Their will never be another great one like The Rock. A guy with that much charisma was never going to be in the business for long. All of these videos bring back great memories of funny skits.........

He will go down as the most ELECTRIFYING WRESTLER IN SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT! there will never be another one like him, I do hope he one day returns to the ring, and gives us one last match! He was the most charismatic, the most athletic, the most diciplined, the most talented, wrestler of our generation!

Im glad he isnt coming back, dont get me wrong, The Rock is a great talker on the Mic hell one off the greatest ever, but its good he's finally stepped out of the ring and concentrating on his movie career. He's pretty much done all that needs to be done in the business. He isnt needed and those thast say he is, need to realise that The Rock is in the past, he isnt needed hell he could get someone over but the guy is practically finished.

I have all the respect in the world for The Rock. And I agree with what Badguy said, he has done everything he could ever have wanted to accomplish in the ring. There is nothing left for him to explore in the WWE. He is arguably one of the most successful guys to step into the business, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Austin (probably together) inducted into the WWE HOF within the next 10 years.

From Jim Ross website...........

Quote I also get peeved that some people seemingly “damn” The Rock because he hasn’t returned to the ring recently. Hell, he may never return to the ring for even a promo, much less a wrestling match. Here is a guy who is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood and who is making his hay while the sun shines. Who with any brains wouldn’t do the same thing? Do I miss seeing the “Great One” in the ring? Hell, yeah. But I understand the deal. Rock has moved on to other ventures. There is not one wrestler I have EVER known who would not be doing the same exact thing if they could unless they were brain dead or were in desperate need to feed their massive and fragile egos.

So called fans who slag off The Rock. Are in my opinion not true fans of the great one. People should be happy for him on so many counts. He is now making more money from not wrestling. Then he ever did when he did wrestle. Plus the travelling and one take to get something right is no more. People should be also happy for him getting out of the industry in his prime, and in one peice physically. Some of the older people should be ashamed of themselves for wreslting on way longer than they should.

The Rock did his part for wrestling, although I would be happy if he returned! I always tuned in to see The Rock lay the Smackdown, he did more for wrestling than most, and I respect that.

I really like some of his movies. They may be pretty much mindless action but damn are they entertaining.

He was very good, but hardly the best. Catchphrases and funny songs aren't the complete be all of promos. Funk,Flair,Anderson,Roberts,Foley,Cornette,Piper... those are the real deal as far as cutting promos.

To me The Rock is the greatest of all time, he could do it all he could play heel play face, hes possibly the best on the Mic and has a great in ring ability. And is smart to have left when he did, he did everything that he could do, and left out on top which so many wrestlers struggle to do so, and they just fade away, and are not as appreciated as they would of been if they left awhile back. Im mainly thinking of Hogan and Flair.

I don't get why people slag his movies either.  The Gridiron Gang was a fantastic movie. He was hilarious in Be Cool.  The Scorpion King was good too.  I'm ready for him to come out with another one.

There is only one more wrestling match I want to see from this guy and that is him facing Randy Orton.  3rd generation vs 3rd generation.  I'd take a tag match with these two being partners.

I'm a huge Rock mark. Anyone who can perform the way he did and talk smack as funny and as well as he could gets a nod from me. Hell, as a Piper fan, what would you expect?
