I'm quite liking Jinder Mahal as a top heel but the segment this week where he mocked Nakamura was terrible, lame unfunny material and his delivery made it look obviously scripted.
Hopefully they can deliver a decent match at Hell in a Cell, so far Nakamura has been disappointing on the main roster in terms of match quality at least, he hasn't come close to what we saw from him in NXT. Less is definitely more with Shinsuke and it didn't hurt to keep him off TV this week. |

Taz goes into great detail about the promo Jinder cut on Nakamura last week on Smackdown that was lets be honest racist and very surprising E let it happen. It's a good listen. I can't remember ever hearing a wrestling crowd that loves boundaries to be pushed for entertainment and storyline purposes chanting that something has gone too far. I think that's first time ever which shows you how much it lacked taste. It seems to have gone under the radar when if it was a white man saying them kind of things it could have well kicked up a shit storm in main stream media/news.

This is for me one of the worst word heavyweight title feuds in the history of WWE
The worst champion ive ever seen delivering absolutely awful promos to a guy who has alot of wrestling ability but spends too much time pulling stupid faces - who by the way also delivers awful promos There is nothing promising at all about this match - my only hope is that Nakamura takes the title and then gets destroyed by Owens at the earliest opportunity

Nakamura continues to be buried. Doesn't look good when the main event title babyface can't win even when the heel has his sheep evicted from ringside. Shinsuke doesn't have the mic skills to main event, which made it very difficult to gather heat to make people care enough to really buy into it. I really don't see them having another match.

I dont think i can take another promo consisting of Jinder putting pictures on the big screen and making jokes about asians all looking the same The feud was a failure from day 1 - you put an international superstar who has gathered alot of momentum - but is awful on the mic against a former jobber with no mic skills who was merited the title run on the fact he decided to do some bodybuilding whilst he was away from WWE

Awful feud. Jinder as a heel character I don't mind, he gets heat and looks the part, but the promo material he's been given for this feud has been horrendous and unfortunately he's pretty average in the ring so the matches have been weak as well.
As for Nakamura well he needs to stay far far away from a microphone, his poor attempts at English do him no favours and make for some of the worst promos ever, for a headliner fans expect better. The less is more booking approach worked well with him making him have more impact and seem more special. He's failed to produce in the ring as well, his main roster matches haven't touched the quality we saw from him down in NXT. I don't know what the answer is, it may be too late to save him now. A heel turn with a manager maybe? Alternatively I would say have him take a break to try and allow the memory of this feud to fade and then have him suddenly return and don't ever let him cut a promo again. |

I honestly think this is the only thing they can do with him now - whatever route they do decide to take though he should not have any mic time what so ever In fact to build his aura he should just get the job done without saying a single word - he couldnt do that as his face persona because it wouldnt be interactive enough for all his little fans sat ringside |

Yes and this is the problem. Because WWE want their popular babyfaces to be interactive and family friendly this is what led to Nakamura cutting these horrible promos where in honesty he comes a across as creepy and weird and his promos are senseless ramblings. I would like to see him in a heel role similar to that of Yokozuna from years back where a manager would do the bulk of his promo work and then maybe Nakamura could just have one simple line at the end to close out the promo. Trouble is you turn him heel it really removes much of what is special about him, the flashy entrance and weird dance moves would all have to go. |

I'm in agreement - a heel role with limited talking could make sense
I'm not sure what they would do with his entrance - they'll be able to come up with some sort of darker eerie music but its his mannerisms that would need to make the biggest adjustment and that seems to be what connects him with the crowd They need to do something or hell be away back to Japan in no time

The other option which we haven't mentioned would be to switch him to Raw and keep him babyface and go with the rebooted character who never speaks.
On Smackdown he's failed miserably to beat the champion on two occasions so it's hard to see where he goes from here. A heel turn would require a complete overhaul of his gimmick and it is the flamboyant character that the people seem to enjoy so I think it's maybe a little early to be changing him so dramatically, but they do need to do something to stop him from sinking down the card and to stop fans from losing interest and rejecting him. |
