i really didnt think they would put the world title on kane again!
glen has always said that he didnt want the title again but i guess he changed his mind!
i would have rather had someone like matt or christian win, two of which have never held a world title.
i guess we will must have to wait and see how it all develops in the coming weeks!

As a Kane fan I am happy that he is World champion but I am not happy that he is facing Rey Mysterio again not cool for his first title defence he should've faced him on Smackdown and then faced Swagger at Summerslam.
And for all you Kane bashers why are you bashing him what has done to deserve this bashing he has been a hard worker he has decent mic skills which can get him heat or cheers depending on what he is.
Or is it because he has become World Champion again when he has stated he doesn't want to So he changed his mind good I am glad he wants to be champion and be the face of Smackdown for a few months.

while i'm not a huge kane fan, i must admit it does make a nice change and i am glad he's going to hold the title for a while. My feelings on Rey mysterio must be pretty well known at this point on here and i'm dissapointed that the little cunt will get to headline another event. I agree that swagger would have been a far worthier opponent.

Kane deserves the title, he has been a loyal servent to the WWE as the Kane character for the last 13 years. Im suprised he has still only held the title once before now.
He has worked well in the mid card and always seems to be ok with helping putting the new and younger talents over. So in my mind a Kane title run is well deserved. |

At the same time, you can't gloss over the fact of exactly why in Kane's case this deserves a title run while in most people's cases the payday would be enough reward. Both supporters and detractors of Kane being champion right now seem to be forgetting to state this one important factor. The entire time he's been putting others over and accepting terrible storylines that do nothing for him, Kane has managed to keep up the monster aura around him even if it's only been by the slightest, most nostalgic bit; and part of this is that while he may not be quite as mobile as he used to be, he continues to be able to move just enough to appear freakish as well. Because of that, the idea of the Big Red Monster finally breaking back into the main picture has become something of a memetic secret ace in the hole.

For my two cents, Kane being able to maintain this aura has been one reason he has been such an effective 'jobber' - but jobber is the wrong term to use for Kane. From memory, Kane was generally wheeled out if particular talent needed a 'test' or to prove their abilities against 'the monster' Kane. That is, it worked because Kane has a credible reputation, and powerful persona.
To say Kane 'jobbed' is putting him in the same boat as Ryder (truly jobbed for Watson on NXT this week), Chavo v whoever, and countless other midcarders people have forgotten. With Kane, the faces don't look 'good' just because Kane is 'bad', Kane makes them look good by being a formidible and credible opponent. This is why I continued to even be a fan of 'jobber' Kane.
It has been a ball to watch Kane been given the 'king monster' baton with Taker out, and he has run a mile with it and pretty much ruled SD! for the past month. The main bitch seems to be, 'after jobbing so long, Kane doesnt make a credible champ'. Well, kayfabe, you could say that Kane hasn't had a shock like Taker's near death for a while, and the shock has unleashed long dormant power - the point of Kane's performance i think.
Look at the WWE roster - honestly folks, see anyone who'd like to go toe to toe with Kane in a non-kayfabe bout? lol. That's what makes him credible champ.

That's not exactly something to be proud about if you look at the bigger picture.
One title run was 24 hours and the ECW one was poor and used only as a stop gap.
His current one also looks like it's going to be ruined soon.

Undertaker. Triple H. Kozlov. Shad Gaspard. Kozlov has shoot experience (although, it didn't help that MMA guy a while back )... |

To be honest apart from being huge and looking intimidating I dont think Kane has any qualities that would make him a tough opponent in a non-kayfabe scrap. He is in his fourties, has no MMA or any experience in any other contact sports that Im aware of, plus I think he is fairly broken down after years of the punishing WWE schedule, his knees especially I think are pretty shot. |
