Sorry, I got confused. I thought you meant that WWE didnt want Lesnar to be the top guy in the company again.

There are alot of guys who are being misused, and i might forget a few here but if i do let me know.

In my opinion the most misused talent is Christian. Full Stop. He is the same age as edge. Both came to the WWE around the same time. But Vince and other head honchos just cant see any value in Christian as a Main-Event guy. Why the hell not? Before he left WWE in 2005; he got a little push in the aftermath of John Cena (the wwe champ at the time. yea seriously) being drafted to raw. He was put into a triple threat match, pitting him against John Cena and Chris Jericho. He didnt win the match unsurprisingly. John Cena did unsurprisingly. But it was a chance for Christian to show management what he can do when put into the main event picture. But unfortunately WWE didnt see that. He was then involved in a few things here and there and eventually left WWE in good terms. He went to TNA less than a month later and soon became NWA/TNA Champion. Now I dont watch TNA, only in very rare occasions just to check out what they are doing to boost their popularity. But what they did with Christian was something WWE missed the ball with. Hate to say it. When Christian was champ, he got a ton of backing from the loyal tna fanbase. (something that is rare now since tna is full of wwe guys stealing the spots) Just over four years later, after being a top guy in tna; he made his return to WWE, being immediately put on ECW. Yea....WWE's version of ECW. Ok i wasnt really an ECW fan but i understand how the WWE's version of the extreme promotion just never seem to click, and eventually the network and wwe management seemed to think so also. In his debut match he beat ECW Champ Jack Swagger in a non title match. He then went on to participate in the money in the bank ladder match at wrestlemania 25. He had alot of the fans backing during the match, he may have been the favourite out of all the competitors. And this can be clearly seen and heard when Christian was the only man on the ladder, in the ring. But he got knocked off by Kane and he got knocked off by CM Punk, allowing Punk to win his 2nd money in the bank (2 years in a row). He then goes on to win the Rehashed ECW Championship at Backlash 2009. Ok i will be honest, when Christian beat Jack Swagger, i actually felt myself welling up. I just thought, yea its the ECW title but he is still a the champion of his brand at the end of the day. He held the title twice and on the second reign became the longest reigning ecw champion. (wwe-era ecw) But eventually lost it on the final episode of ECW, February 16, 2010. He dropped the ECW Championship to Ezekiel Jackson. (Jackson is listed as the last ECW Champion)
After that he was drafted to Smackdown. And on the same night taunted Jack Swagger, the World Champ at the time. This made me wonder at the idea of Christian reigniting his fued with Jack Swagger but this time for the World Championship. But that fued for that title never came about and christian was doing random things on smackdown. Now i dont watch smackdown much, i mainly watch raw. But i try to check out sd as much as possible. But some things i have seen of christian on sd doesnt look good. I tuned in one night to see Christian teaming up with Hornswoggle. Yes Hornswoggle. Are you serious? Yes, WWE is serious. That gladly passed by and he eventually went on to have a few matches with Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and i now think he is involved in a joint rivalry with Cody and Drew McIntye with Matt Hardy still trying to get his revenge on McIntyre. (I just find the whole matt/drew thing funny lol)And thats all im really up to date with on Christians current path in wwe.

Now i dont know if everyone will agree with my views on Christian being the most unused guy in the E, but please understand how much he has done for wwe, past and present. Yea he may not be the size of HHH and Cena and such, but he has the abilty to wrestle, the abiltiy to talk on the mic, and the abilty to entertain people. He should be the main candidate to win the next money in the bank. (when ever that may be, WM 27 or MITB PPV 2011) And you may ask why i wouldnt say for him to win the royal rumble in january, but realistically the Royal Rumble is really just used for further pushing an already name in the past few years. So why not let him win the contract. He could wait until the time is right. And when WWE finally comes to realise the potenial in an EDGE/CHRISTIAN main event rivalry, the better. As this has the potential to be one of the most entertaining rivalries as alot of attitude era fans want to see this happen. Yea it happened in 2001, but that wasnt really done that well. And plus it was for the IC title, right title at the time, but if they face off again in the year 2011, it will be for the WWE title. I have taken in to account the proposed wwe plan of unifying all major titles and i know it seems highly unlikley that christian will take the title and have such guys as cena, sheamus, orton, hhh (all of whom i love with the exception of cena) taken out of the wwe championships "circle of life". But if edge and christian are involved for the title then this gives wwe time to have the top guys working with younger guys, which would help create stars (aslong as nobody is buried) .

let me know if anyone has the same opionion on Christian and WWE's path for him.

Thanks.

Nice post. and, well, since this board was originally called Captain Charisma´s Wrestling Forum, theunprettier.com, yeah, you´re bound to find some agreeing words there.

I think Christian is very deserving of a main event push indeed.

I suppose I will always be in disagreement about Christian with people on this forum, the Unprettier; most of whom are huge Christian fans. As I read this entire thread once again, I am mind boggled at people saying Christian is misused at the time he's having one of the greatest ECW World Title reigns ever. Christian is a good talent; and I recognize he has improved over the years. But I think as far as his time in ECW goes he was about where he should be. He brought prestige to the ECW Title and made it worth something when he was there; and while it may not have been a major World Title it was still higher than the Tag or Intercontinental Titles. I understand he's many people here's favorite; but just how high do you want him to go? For him to actually be WWE World Champion or World Heavyweight Champion is a step above him in my eyes.

Niall, I agree with you that Christian would make a good person to challenge whoever the current World Champion is for the belt; but not for the reasons you do. I don't want the same people all the time to be getting the Title shots. You mention what you call the "circle of life"; and for each Title it is small. Take a look at the WWE World Title for instance, look at how many times already Sheamus has fought Orton and Cena for it. Back in the day, you would have random people get World Title shots. Hulk Hogan would have his "main event" challengers of people like King Kong Bundy or Andre The Giant; but every now and then he would defend the belt against someone a notch below, such as Magnificent Muraco or Ace Cowboy Bob Orton, or Ric Flair against a Ricky Morton or Magnum T.A.. I wish that WWE would do this on a more regular basis today. Christian would make a great challenger for any Champion, and he could put on a a solid match that would make people wonder if he would actually win. And there is no doubt that an Edge vs Christian feud would be hot. But I don't think, at least at this time, Christian should win a World Title.

Also, I have to disagree with one of your basic premises. You say that if Edge and Christian are involved in a World Title feud then that would make the top guys who are normally Champion free to work with younger stars. But I think that the "top guys" should be the Champion. Like I said in another thread, quite simply, I think that the World Champion should be the one guy in the company who seems like he can beat everyone in the locker room. Yet you want guys that you say are in the top deliberately step down to a lower level. Now yes, I don't think any of them would actually mind that (Cena is right now); but it would lower the value of the World Title if lesser guys hold it. I know that me putting both Christian and Edge in the "lesser guy" category won't sit well with many here; but that only means lesser as in one step below World Championship level, and that is where Edge and Christian are based on how they have been told to perform over their careers.
