As noted earlier, Ric Flair had to leave RAW this evening and was briefly hospitalized before heading home to a hospital in Charlotte. Flair was sent to the hospital for complications from a blood clot. Flair didn't wrestle for All Japan back in January due to a blood clot in his leg.

WWE medical staff took a look at Flair's leg this afternoon and immediately made the decision to pull him off the show and send him to the hospital. Flair was examined at the hospital and advised to return home to Charlotte for further treatment.

Flair was scheduled for a segment with Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler that would have seen them discuss John Cena vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 29.

Flair would have been an upgrade given how weak the Legends panel turned out to be.

Let's also remember that WWE insisted on Flair passing a cardiac screening before the 1st time they let him turn to TV. It sounds like something serious is going on but nobody is talking.

Sounds like a good job they caught it early enough then so i'm sure he'll be making a full recovery.

Yep, agree with Baz - glad they caught it early so the chances are he will make a full recovery ... the legends panel was a real let down on raw and its a shame that flair wasnt fit enough to appear because he would have added some real star power to the show

Here's a follow-up.

Ric Flair was sent home from RAW in Philadelphia yesterday after doctors took a look at the same leg that he had a blood clot in back in January. That incident prevented Flair from wrestling for All Japan.

Flair was sent home to Charlotte for further treatment but spent last night watching the NBA on TV. Flair was downplaying the situation to people but is going to a hospital in Charlotte this morning for medical tests.

One person who saw Flair over the weekend noted that he was not looking good and was limping badly. WWE officials have been concerned with Flair’s health recently, even before yesterday’s RAW.

Flair was scheduled to be involved in the Legends segment with John Cena and The Rock at the end of last night’s RAW, in the role Booker T had.

Quote  WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is scheduled to undergo a very serious surgery on July 9th, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The operation is related to the issues from last summer's hospitalization and will enable Flair to get rid of his colostomy bag, which he has needed since the health issues in 2017.

The Nature Boy is facing what was described as a very significant surgery. It was noted that Flair feels that he needs to have this operation done if he wants to go back to serious training.

Flair underwent surgery back in August 2017 to fix a case of bowel obstruction but that led to serious complications, including kidney failure. He spent more than 1 month undergoing treatments before being allowed to return home.

Hopefully everything goes well.

Id imagine any form of surgery at Flairs age and in his current state would be a risk

Im not entirely sure what he will want to return to training for?

Serious training? Frick Ric! Knock it off! He'll be lucky to survive the surgery. Just get your little motorized scooter and buy a more comfortable seat and get used to that being your life from now on.
