From the creative team that brought you Ticket Wars, here's  TUP's Top Record In the Jukebox (TRIJ)!!!

Top Record In the Jukebox is an ongoing song contest which pits the favorite songs of fellow TUpeeps against each other!

Here's how it works (i.e. the rules):

* Fellow TUPeeps send me nominations via pm of songs they would like to see entered, preferably in the form of You Tube links. You can enter songs anonymously if you wish, just let me know. The songs can be of any genre or any era of time. I promise I will get to everything sent to me.

* When the threads are made, TUPeeps listen to the songs, pretending you are listening to it on a jukebox at a diner or a pub. After the records have been played, decide on your favorite one and vote by posting in the thread.

* Each week (or whenever I get to it), the current "Top Record In the Jukebox" will be pitted against a new challenger to defend its spot. If the current defending Top Record wins the face off, that record goes on and keeps facing challengers week to week in gauntlet style matchups. If the challenging record wins, that record would become the new Top Record In the Jukebox. The new Top Record would go on to face a new challenging record the week after, and so on until defeated.

* It is requested that voters listen (at least in part) to the songs before voting, especially if you are unfamiliar with them beforehand. Half the goal is to introduce TUPeeps to new music.

* There is no limit to how many long a record can remain the Top Record. As long as a record wins face offs, it remains the Top Record. However, once defeated, that record cannot be re-entered into the contest for a period of two years.

* I will make a thread to chronicle every record that has been TUP's Top Record In The Jukebox, along with how many face offs it has won. This will be the "wall of records" as you see in restaurants and bars, only in thread form.

* From time to time I will offer a TRIJ bonus battle, usually in the form of "Who Did It Better", where two or more cover versions of the same song are pitted against each other. This is separate from the TRIJ battles and does not affect a record's entry into it. Any TUPeep can send me entries for this as well.

* This contest goes on forever!! There is no end.

And now this week's battle...

TUP's current two time Top Record In the Jukebox...

Black Coffee reminds me of Fallout 3. Wandering through the wasteland with the Pip boy playing these older songs while shooting up a settlement full of Raiders.

However as much as that style of musick brings back some good time memories I have to go with the Blizzard on this one

Crazy Train

I never did play Fallout 3 very much. Was it on the pipboy? I don't recognize it from the pipboy radio stations in Fallout 4, but it definitely sounds like one of the songs  that would have been on.

I like this style of music, but I think if I were to pick it over Crazy Train, I'd want to hear it move along a lot faster. Something more like Sing, Sing, Sing, or Zip Gun Bop, or You and Me and The Bottle Makes Three Tonight, or even Zoot Suit Riot or Hey Pachuco! would really threaten to take my pick over Crazy Train.

That said, I do like Black Coffee, and I don't know that I've ever heard it before. The woman's a damned good singer, it's just not upbeat enough is all.

I'm picking Crazy Train again.

Hey, Kondor? Could I ask that you put Benny Goodman - Sing, Sing, Sing in the queue for the jukebox?

All aboard!!!

Crazy train.

Pretty sure the other song hasn't featured in any of the fallout games.

Aye, so added to the queue, but keep in mind said queue is already loooooong. Gonna post up one of #Heel's entries next week to face this winner, trying to rotate entries from different board members as best I can.

As for my vote, obviously I'm going with Black Coffee. The song is a masterpiece, and Sarah Vaughn is one of the best of the era. I've been heavily into jazz lately; and that was one of my favorites.

That being said, a fair listen is all I ask (which you all did) and it looks like Ozzy is taking this one again. It is interesting how a few weeks ago we kept having a new winner each week and now we have a song emerge that seems hard to beat, exactly what I intended.

It will hard to find one to beat crazy train....especially as my tastes are not terribly popular outside their core fanbases....maybe I should try some of my more non mainstream bands lol

Though I will say This thread has forced me to listen to some Sarah Vaughn so it is expanding my musical tastes at least

Awesome. Clap I hope you like her.

However, Crazy Train takes this one 5 votes to 1.
