Good times as a Barnsley fan looking forward to a new season.

Adam Jackson a centre half was released and he's been replaced by Mads Andersen from Horsens on a four year deal with a fifth year in our favour.

Ryan Hedges a winger left and he's been replaced by Luke Thomas from Derby County on a four year deal.

Mike Bahre who plays behind the strikers has signed permanently after a season long loan.

Bradley Collins has signed for four year contract after being released by Chelsea after a season on loan at Burton Albion. He's another on a four year contract with a fifth year in our favour. He's expected to take over from Adam Davies as our first choice keeper because he's out of contract and expected to sign for Stoke City.

Liam Lindsay is looking like going to Stoke City for around three million this week, so if that happens we will need another centre half.

Conor Hourihane and James Bree got promoted with Aston Villa. George Moncur, Matty Pearson and Eliott Lee got promoted with Luton Town. With how we do business it wouldn't be a shock if we've earned ourselves a handful of promotion clauses to bump the transfer kitty.

Dimitri Cavare had the year in our favour activated. Along with Lindsay (likely Stoke bound), Mamadou Thiam and Ethan Pinnock we will be looking to get them under longer contracts with only a year left.

Ethan Pinnock is a better centre half than Lindsay so getting him under a new contract would be huge.

Along with Cavare we've also extended contracts for Cameron McGeehan, Cauley Woodrow, Alex Mowatt.

Pre season starts today and we've already renewed four contracts and signed players full time. The billionaires mean business as I can never remember so much business done this year.

So my club narrowly miss out on promotion meaning another season in League 1.

Adders or anyone when and on what channel to they run the football league highlights show during the season? I'm going to make more effort to keep up with football in the new season fallen way too out of touch.

I never watch EFL highlights regardless of what channel they are on from season to season.

I Sky+ Sky Sports News 6-7 on a Saturday evening and whiz through to the Barnsley action.

Other than that usually on Monday our wonderful media department put around ten minutes of highlights for each game on You Tube.

It's done in great detail of showing players arriving at the ground, mulling around on the pitch, in the dressing room etc not just match action.

What a business man Mike Ashley is to be getting 300 million for a yoyo club.

Plus he's doing what any great business person does which is leaving a company in better shape than it was when he bought it.

Amazing how Ashley is such a bad man but Saudi blood money is ok LOL

Saudi blood money hasn't ruined our club

Ashley made us a yoyo club with 2 relegations in his reign and yet we still remain 8th in the all time PL table.

Hes got no option to sell after the stunt he pulled trying to keep his shops open during this pandemic and as a result seeing his shares drop to the lowest they've ever been, furloughing staff and refusing to change the decision  and disconnecting the club from the city.

300m seems alot but when you take into consideration the TV money every year then I guess it isn't too bad a price

Its put the mackems in meltdown too

Another win for the FA's 'fit and proper person' test, with Saudi's record of human rights, supporting terrorism, culls of Royal Family members and murders of Journalists inside their Turkish Embassy.

Not surprising that they didn't by my club, it's the two things a lot of people in Saudi hate, the West and Ham LOL

It's funny the FA and EFL trying to get the current season finished. Two team coaches to spread out team mates, isolation in a hotel, no sharing water bottles etc really strict measures that as soon as they start the game go out of the window.

We know football players are rich and pampered and usually not in touch with the real world. But this is a world problem that we are in together and as small as the risk is to them based on stats, they shouldn't be used as guinea pigs.

I don't see us being able to watch inside a stadium until 2021.

One word - Money

The clubs are very concerned that if the league isn't finished then the TV rights deal would not be adhered to, allowing for SKY/BT to reclaim some of the costs.

Clubs like Man City are fine, however even West Ham would be fucked if made to repay some of the money as their business model revolves around the TV money. Everything has been budgeted to it and without it we will enter administration. That's a Premier League Club.

Look at Lower league clubs who let alone TV money need fan attendance to survive. Even if games are resumed they will be behind closed doors until 2021 and as such many will go under.
