Just when i think Orton can't be any more awesome he pulls off the RKO on a flying Bourne, timing it to perfection. How is this guys timing and reflexes? Is there a finisher Orton can't finish with his finisher? lol. I didn't think he could beat catching Edge with an RKO during the spear a while back. Gotta love unexpected reversals like this.
His match with Edge/Jericho/Bourne was probably the highlight of this weeks lacklustre RAW for me (even if he did lose to Edge). I really hope WWE isn't going to try and turn these Orton-Bourne run-ins over the past couple of weeks into an equally pointless feud (as much as I like Bourne, he just isn't in Orton's league).
Biggest shock of the night for me, was to see Orton smiling as he walked up the ramp after the match, a rarity for the Viper. Then again, after the RKO on Airbourne, how could he not smile after how well the spot went over.
Yeah, I know Orton has a 'wrestlers of the world' thread, but I couldn't find any in the RAW thread where I can chat on his weekly appearances and matches. Lots of 'Orton vs Edge' type threads but none specifically devoted to WWEs biggest star. Checking, other wrestlers double up on threads in 'wrestlers of the world' and the brand threads (e.g. Kane) so am taking the 'wrestlers' thread as spot to talk about non-RAW related news on the Viper.
If Shaemus can have his own RAW thread, I'm hoping the Viper can too. Orton is going to be on RAW for a long time yet, so creating a thread for every feud he gets into for the next 5 years seems like overkill to me. Hoping the TUP Gods will be kind and allow Orton his own RAW thread.

Agreed on all parts.
Randy probably smiled because he thought to himself "Fuck yeah, top this, Cena!"

Not a huge fan of him keeping all his heel mannerisms and slow, methodical style despite the face turn, nor am I a fan of his pointless and surprisingly boring feud with Edge, but I can agree that the RKO on Bourne was awesome.

Only Orton could have turned this mish-mash into something entertaining. First he gets put with Jay Uso lol. wtf? Poor writers, they put everyone into the Nexus feud which left only Orton and the Usos with nothing to do lol (Shaemus and Miz had their own feud). Orton masterclass for the young Jay as he slowly carved him up, displaying his prowess to Shaemus at ringside.
The Apex Predator ends up flattening the Usos and giving RKOs to both Shaemus and Miz. Totally dominant as he should be, and reall setting up a good three-way feud between him and Shaemus and Miz.

people are flipping their lid wanting Miz to become champion but I am going to be highly pissed if Orton wins at Summerslam then Miz, who isn't anywhere near Orton's league as far as wrestling goes, is allowed to cash in that case and beat him. Miz vastly needs improvement on his in ring work before he even needs to be considered for a main title. Whether Orton wins at Summerslam or not, he would be a good one for Miz to feud with and learn the mastery of ring work from.

I dont want Orton to win the title at Summerslam because I actually like Sheamus, and Orton is way over anyway, he doesnt need the belt.
Hopefully Orton v Jericho happens soon, it'll be a fresh feud and highly likely excellent in the ring. |

Orton does not need the belt, and the Miz should go over and get the title because it will be such a change that WWE needs. The top of the card on Raw is so stale it's the only thing to look forward to. The Miz is one of maybe three wrestlers who has made great strides in improving his all round ability in the last 12 months. When I saw WWE live he really impressed more than anyone else AND he was over. He got so much heat from the crowd, which definitely helps. At least he's bringing some new energy to the top slot and that should be welcomed with open arms? |

I dont want Miz to cash in and win period. Let alone against Orton. Thing is, if you go to that ages thread posted by JTB, you find Miz and Orton have been wrestling about the same length of time. Just saying. On that subject.
I also dont want Orton to win the strap, not because I dont like him, because I dont, but its because WWE has become very WCW-ish in their very short title reigns the past few years. people win the belt and lose it a month or two later. I want someone to win the strap, maybe Y2J and just let him reign for like, a long ass time. Dont lose the belt until December. (Yea 5 months is an eternity in WWE time.) Jericho getting the belt and having it for a long-ass time I can agree with. That would be ideal for me on a personal level
However, just because Orton and Miz have been wrestling for pretty much the same amount of time, doesn't really mean much. Orton was handed his spot without having to really work his way up. And yes, he is super-talented all-round, I would say he is one of the best for making his opponents look good. He can carry anyone to a decent match when he's on top form (for example, the Iron man match against Cena from Bragging Rights was it? Can't remember). BUT to compare the Miz isn't very fair. He was rubbish to begin with. And then in a tag team with Morrison he was clearly outshone in the talent stakes. My point is that in the last 12 months he, more than anyone else on the card, has improved remarkably in every aspect. In saying that, I can't tell you anyone who deserves the opportunity he currently has more. Orton remains awesome. Jericho for champ (yay!). But Miz to freshen it up at the top. And I think Orton is the one who can carry him there. |

As usual I agree with Steph. Miz deserves an award for most improved superstar, I wanted him to win Money In The Bank and I really hope he now begins a slow burning climb into the main-events.
He has evolved into a reliable worker and noone is better on the mic right now, he over-took his former partner John Morrison ages ago in the progression stakes. |
