Mattel announced during today's San Diego Comic-Con International event that both Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior had been signed by the company to take part in their "WWE Defining Moments" wrestling action figure line.

In an even bigger shocker, Savage cut a classic "Macho Man" promo hyping his upcoming action figure at the event via video message. While video has yet to surface of Savage's promo, images have. You click here to view photos taken of Savage's video message at the event, as well as the action figure itself. The video/images feature a new look Randy Savage alongside the figure.

This would be the first WWE produced Randy Savage action figure since the early nineties when the company was working with Hasbro.

I so want the Savage action figure because I never thought WWE would allow him to be signed.

It's a huge shock to see both signed up to this as Vince will have had to have given it the green light.

It's even more surprising that Savage cut a promo for his figure.

Yeah, I guess a lot of kids been waiting eagerly for this day, trouble is they are all 30-40 years old now lol. Gotta love the "Defining Moments" tag - advertising hyperbole at its finest. I'm hanging out for the "Montreal Screw Job Defining Moment Box Set" (including Vince McMahon and Earl Hebner action figures) - I hope the Hitman figure can spit though.

If this is the first step towards a Randy Savage HOF induction then I'm all for it.

Doubt it. I bet you the only reason Vinny Mac is doing this is solely because he knows Savage can bring the company money, thats the only reason the old bastard is doing this.

Most likely, the only people to buy these figures will be kids, right? Seeing as Savage very rarely is even referenced in WWE, these kids probably dont know who Savage is, so very unlikely to buy a Savage figure rather than say, Cenas, so I doubt its purely money reasons.

I may be getting slightly ahead of myself here, but this news coupled with the recent DVD on him (which wasnt a hatchet job) makes me think some progress has been made and WWE are trying to get Savages name out there as a prelude to HOF-ing him.

Here's the only clip I've seen.  I am totally ready for Savage to become the Raw GM.
Does anyone understand the urgent need for a sarcasm font?

Thanks for that thundarr, I definitely needed a little bit more Macho in my life today.  Hilarious that the Miz brought his MITB briefcase with him to that news conference.  I love it.  Seriously, what's not awesome about the Miz?  Nothing, that's what.  Also, I can definitely see this leading up to a Macho HOF induction, it's gonna happen, I just don't know when.

I'm also fairly confident the ratings from a Hall of Fame induction would probably help with the money thing too, so what you said actually makes it remotely more possible that a Savage induction could happen down the line, especially when/if McMahon starts to run out of talent to induct.

I do anticipate a Shawn Michaels induction in 2012 for sure, though, if not next year.

Those idiots laughing ruined it IMO.

As for Savage going into the Hall O' Fame, I know was saying it would never happen, but you can never say never especially when it comes to Vince McMahon and the WWE.
