Okay... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlfgqt_roh-wrestling-10-1-11-part-1-5-hq_sport

This week we got Jimmy Jacobs (w/Steve Corino) vs. "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett (w/Bob Evans) and World Television Championship match between El Generico and Jay Lethal.

First, they killed a good solid 15 minutes at the start with "recapping last week" and a promo from World's Wrestling's Greateast Tag Team.  Then we got a video pack "Focus On" which was a spotlight on Mike Bennett.

Fair enough.  I get needing to do the "Focus On" video.  ROH is airing in different and new markets.  They need to do packs like this every week just to introduce the talent to the audience.  But they shouldn't start the show like this.  But they only have an hour long show, they need to start off with a bit of action before they get into the talking.

As for the matches... Jimmy Jacobs did his best to sell Bennett's offense.  Bennett has a the classic WWF look to him and that alone gets him plenty of heat from the ROH crowd.  Bob Evans looks more like Popeye the Sailor than Burgess Meredith.  They really should have booked this more like a classic squash.  I think that would have really annoyed the crowd even more.

The TV main event was an improvement.  But I thought the pacing seemed uneven at spots.  It was looking pretty clear they were going for the time-limit-draw.  It felt like they both slowed down the match a bit and kept it in low gear.  The bonus time section was a bit sloppy, but they picked up the pace nicely in it.

I have to admit that the low production values are going to turn away a lot of casual fans.  The camera quality and poor lighting combine to make a rather dark product.  The show at points looks like bootlegged cell phone video.

The recapping was pretty boring, I hope they condense that shit down a lot next show. I agree with Thundarr on the first match actually. Dudes not over with the ROH crowd at all so a 2 or 3 minute squash would have gotten dude a lot of heat. Jacobs his a nice cutter type move springboarding off the turnbuckle though. The editing of these vids were shit though, video 1 ends, you click video 2 and the match ends in like 20seconds in. I was like what the fuck.

Nigel was hilarious when he asked that fan who he was and where hes from, the guy stumbles over it and Nigel goes, "Thats easy for you to say." That was great. The video package about Eddie Edwards was very good. If youve never seen ROH or Eddie before, I think youd like him a lot after his story about his nickname and fighting with a broken elbow. Davey and Strongs packages to build their rivalry was also really good. Again Davey showing hes not a robot. Strong is one of my favorites in ROH dudes awesome, same old same old. It was a good look at the polar opposites and why they are fighting right now.

Nigel is a terrible guy for commentary holy shit. During the Lethal vs Generico match he says the following... "This is why we have the handshake of honor. You shake hands in the beginning and you shake hands at the end but in between theres no shaking hands." Mind numbing...

The main event started off pretty solid but once it built steam I was fully in a trance. Back and forth and hard hitting. I saw the draw coming and at first I was upset, I mean TNA does it far too much so I am sorta not in love with draws any more, but I cant argue with the reaction of the crowd when Cornette gave them 3 more minutes. I didnt expect that finish at all. The crowd was going truly nuts for the 1st time in the shows short run and it was exciting. I can see why he won but I didnt see it coming.

We start with video recap of last week's TV Championship match.

The Briscoe Brothers come out and met Jim Cornette for a promo.  The microphone sounds really tinny.

"Focus On: Tommaso Ciampa."  These promos could use some tighting up.  They go on a bit too long and sort of ramble.  They need more in-ring highlights.

Tommaso Ciampa vs. Andy Ridge.  Steve Corino joins commentary. Surprisingly, Corino is much better than Nigel.  Ciampa's finisher is pretty sick.

Nigel does his bit where he asks a "fan" who's going to win the main event.  But the fan shouts out "Bring back Kevin Steen."  Nigel calls him a wanker.

Another video package.

Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong (w/Truth Martini.)  There was some "boring" shouts early in the match, which seemed stupid since the match had just started.  There was great chain moves, reversals, and transitions. I did think there was too many near-falls early in the match, that sort of sucked some of the energy from the near falls later in the match.  But lots of great chain action.

Now there's an upload on Daily Motion: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xll5mn_roh-wrestling-10-8-11-part-1-5-hq_sport  There's part 1 and you can get the other parts from there.

Hopefully the upcoming taping in the OVW arena will look better production-wise.

Quote Ring of Honor announced this afternoon that former WWE, ECW and WCW star Lance Storm will be returning to the company at their Showdown in the Sun Internet Night One Internet PPV Wrestlemania weekend, facing Mike Bennett.

Storm, who officially retired in 2005, still makes occasional in-ring appearances and trains talents in Calgary. He has made several appearances for ROH over the last several years.

I can't remember many of his matches but i remember his boring gimmick which was awful

Quote WWE officials have expressed interest in acquiring Jay and Mark Briscoe, but they are both under contract to Ring of Honor

WWE needs to build a tag team division with their own pieces before they go robbing from ROH and snatching these dudes up. I would hate for them to be wasted in WWE. They have a top spot in ROH for good reason, imagine in 2 years after FCW they are in the position the Uso's are in now. I think I'd cry. Especially after watching them in such matches as Ladder War, at Man Up vs Steen and Generico. (2007 I think the PPV was.)
