Quote One of the main reasons WWE is having Roman Reigns work a program with Jinder Mahal is because it's another attempt to get him cheered. With Mahal a strong heel, the hope is that when they wrestle at Money in the Bank next month that Reigns gets predominantly cheered.

Even with Jinder, creative are going to find it hard for Roman to get himself cheered.

Look at last week the crowd did THANK YOU JINDER chants after beating Roman down.

On the plus side for management, they can edit crowd noise tomorrow with it being pre recorded.

Aside from Roman Reigns, WWE and the fans alike do a pretty good job of keeping the right guy babyface. Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman all make great babyfaces. The exception besides Reigns is Bobby Roode who also needs to turn heel. For now Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are fine as heels, but one if not both should be flipped face sooner or later, and Vince should get over himself and book Zayn like he's Daniel Bryan circa 2012.

Babyfaces should be able to be booked without having to be the underdog all of the time.

Zayn, just by his mere physique and size is already "a less believable underdog" in the daniel bryan sense without having to do anything.

For me Zayn should be booked as per AJ Styles and just let his wrestling skills and mic skills get him over without having to be forced down the fans throats because hes an underdog

OK, fair enough, but I see AJ Styles as the same kind of character as Daniel Bryan, too.

I completely agree about not having to book babyfaces as underdogs, too. Braun Strowman is a good example of how to do it another way. And I think Seth Rollins is an example of yet another way.

Love how they are still trying to get the whole "screwed by the management"thing over - trying to enforce that management wont allow Reigns any further opportunities to try and get him sympathy is just not working at all.

The fact that Reigns is able to get Mahal cheered is absolutely incredible  - even his backstage assault and spearing him through the wall and all that shit isnt enough

Reigns needs to turn heel

By the way - they could have done a better job of making the wall look like a wall and not just a sheet of cardboard

This should be a deal breaker for the Reigns babyface push.

If Roman actually gets booed and people cheer a heat magnet like Mahal then that should be it, Roman has to turn, his levels of unpopularity have hit new depths. I mean even at the height of Cena’s unpopularity when you put him in there with a guy who could get real heat Cena would be the more cheered of the two, Edge for example was a good opponent to get Cena cheered.

Mahal gets mega heat at Muhammad Hassan level, people should not be cheering him.

I can't say I'm looking forward to this Match, Jinder is a horrible wrestler who is now just cannon fodder for the faces of Raw

The reason for this feud isn't to try and get people cheering Roman; it's to put Jinder Mahal into the ring with one of the biggest names in the industry. Mahal's push didn't stop because he lost the WWE title. WWE are still pushing into that market and being against Roman guarantees cheers for the modern day mahalalala. They'll have a short feud and they'll milk the footage of people going wild for Jinder in the foreign markets that they're aiming for. It's good business really.
