From Jim Ross Website...........
* Known for stomps and punches (like Hogan with legdrops and punches) yet fans see his matches way more exciting. * So many people put him over in the Attitude Era to the point where he either never lost or when he did it made him still look strong. * He had the benefit of having just about all the best storylines in the Attitude Era compared to others on the roster. * I liked him, but he got much of what he got handed to him really well. |

He did a couple more moves in the ring than HOOOOOgan. the Lou Thesz Press, his trademark Elbow with flipped fingers, the same from the top rope (seldom but still) and last but not least he had a major advantage over hogan, a decent finisher!
But you´re right, he made up most of his matches of kicks and punches.
I think it was his charisma that gave him all those opportunities in the attitude era. He just fitted in there like you´d fit into a tailored suit.

fortunately, he had a boss that would let him do what everyone would love to do to their boss--tell them off then kick their ass. How many people have had bosses in their lifetime that they did not want to do that to?
The place that Vince McMahon or Vince Russo--whomever came upon this idea--came up with this idea to let Austin raise hell like this needs to be recorded in the logs of history. Was McMahon just sitting there with Linda one day and thought, "I've got an idea and the perfect person to use for it" then went from there? It's just brilliance. Austin, though, before all of this was a really good wrestler. He had some awesome matches early in his career but once he got in McMahon land, he got limited to what he could do and especially after the neck injury. Edited by MariaS - 24/October/2008 at 03:16 |

From Jim Ross Website............
* I don't get why people word the questions as if they think that Steve chose to walk away through his own choice. * People shouldn't be still going on about his retirement because he owes people nothing. * His true fans can enjoy the memories and be glad he can still walk and is a rich man. |

It really annoys me when you get WWE Universe style fans that come out with crap like why wont Stone Cold wrestle again or i think the Rock should return fulltime.
As you said Admin these guys owe the fans nothing as they have all ready given more than a fair share of memorable moments, all of which can still be viewed through dvd or the net. These idiot fans need to accept that Stone Cold didnt wake up one day and just think, i cant be bothered anymore im gonna retire, he actually wrestled through tremendous pain against doctors orders for years before his condition finally worsened to the point of where he was told, take one more bad bump and you could well be looking at full paralysis. Fans should be thankfull that Austin braved the pain barrier for as long as he did for their entertainment and now leave him to enjoy his retirement. Steve is wise to not wrestle again even for one more match, nothing no matter how big the buzz or how huge the pay off is worth risking life in a wheel chair. |

From my own experience with that type of fan, don't expect too much, I've never been on a wrestling forum where wrestling is talked about so little... |

As an ex-member of the WWE Universe, I can't tell you how happy I am that I was recruited here by Admin. There were so many redundant topics about why the Rock should return, why won't Austin wrestle more, why this wrestler sucks, how hot is this guy, etc.

From Jim Ross Website.........
* If he were ever to wrestling again it would have been at Wrestlemania 25, so not it should be forgotten forever. * You can bet someone will bring up him wrestling again near to Wrestlemania 26, instead of just letting it drop. * I think anyone who would want Steve to risk his health in one more match is selfish and only thinking of themselves. |

Fans just need to open there eyes up and realise Steve is in no shape or form to get back into the ring, one bad bump and he could be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, so really the fans need to stop asking the same stupid question over and over again and be greatful for what he done not for what he isnt doing. |

I'd hate to see Steve end up in a wheelchair or complete paralysed. I don't deny I enjoyed his matches but I think the fans who ask for "one more match" are being selfish. He gave the business all he could and I for one am glad he left whilst he can still walk
