Austin is way more entertaining that hogan, its hard to explain to someone who started on hogan and not austin like i did, but Watching tapes of hogan, and watching him live back in the day on the monday night wars, austin was way better, and as far as him gettin in the ring again, fuck that, i want to see more movies as good as damaged orr whatever the title of it is, that movie kicked ass!
WWF was great. WCW is better. TNA is the best. And AJ Styles has competed in all three!!!

Hogan's shit was good in the 80s and I enjoy alot of Hogan stuff back then but come early 90s he was stale as hell and even in the late 90's with the nWo, he was boring and only really got interesting because of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall carrying his ass over theres.

As for Austin, I found him exciting and entertaining from the late 90s to the early 2000s but after a while you could tell things were changing and Austin wasnt as exciting as he once was (thus he walked out due to creative issues), but again if I had to put my finger on it. Austin was more fun to watch during the late 90's than Hogan was throughout the 80s.

Hands down Austin was one of the very best at entertaining us during the 90's-2000's, I can say without a doubt he was 100 times the entertainer Hogan was and will ever be.

IGN.com interviewed Steve Austin to promote "The Stranger." Austin is asked a variety of questions including...

IGN: Do you still keep up with the WWE? Do you watch RAW or Smackdown?

Austin: I watch every now and then when I can. I don't follow it as much as I used to. Technically I'm still with the company. I'm totally independent but technically I'm still with the company and have a great relationship with them but I'm just because I'm trying to focus on the things that I've got going I really don't get to watch that much TV at all. Which is interesting when I go to some meetings to discuss TV projects and they ask me "what do you like to watch on TV?" And I have to tell them that I don't really watch a whole lot of TV. I don't watch the WWE as much as I'd like to, but I don't really watch TV in general.

IGN: Did you happen to catch any of TNA when they put themselves up against RAW?

Austin: Oh, that was brutal. Just brutal. I've always wished TNA all the luck in the world. I mean, they'll never be able to compete on a level platform with the WWE but I still just want the company to do well because I have a lot of friends over there. It's a good place for guys to work. It's a little bit different of a product. I think they need to differentiate the product even more from what the WWE is because they'll never be able to compete with that. But, that being said, they've got some interesting storylines and some interesting talent over there. It's an alternative.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin was a guest on Live Audio Wrestling to promote his latest film The Stranger. He was fairly diplomatic. He said Jim Ross was a great friend and instrumental in his career but understands why WWE chooses not to use him as an announcer.

"It's just a case of the WWE wanting to go in a different direction and maybe get younger. The show has changed, it's a PG rated show so Jim fits into that but the Stone Cold character not so much. That's just the business and sooner or later your time is up and I guess they figured his time was up. I love Jim Ross and I think he's the greatest announcer in the history of the business and there's been a couple of outstanding ones and lots of good ones but I put him at the top of the list – and that's just the wrestling business."

Austin also shot down the notion of returning to the ring. He said: "I think it's best to leave well enough alone and let people remember Steve Austin for what he was. Could I go back? I could get another couple of years out of this carcass if I wanted to or if I had to and I could have another match but what's the point? I have my sights focused on trying to be as good an actor as I can be and go down this road. I love my wrestling fans and wrestling is what put me on the map and I still follow the business to this day but I'm going to leave well enough alone." Full interview at www.liveaudiowrestling.com.

Yeah you got to respect Steve for leaving the way he did, his last official match against The Rock at Wrestemania was a classic and I think he is doing the right thing by leaving and not returning anytime soon.

From Jim Ross Website.........

Stone Cold made a brief drive by appearance at San Diego's Comic Con over the weekend but is now back in Vancouver where he expects to finish shooting his latest film this week. I don't know the release date other than it will be sometime in 2011 and is another kick ass, action adventure flick.

Another predictable action movie which will probably not make much of a profit.

Why doesn't he try something different to broaden his acting credentials?

Maybe he's content with being typecast and isn't overally bothered about pushing boundaries trying new things.

Maybe producers arent willing to chance him in a different role though. He could easily be typecast through no fault of his own, just like Vinnie Jones and Danny Dyer who will struggle to get out of the loudmouth Cockney 'hardman' role, he will just be given basic 'hardman ex-cop goes back into action' movies.
