I read a dirt sheet report a while back that suggested WWE were happy to send talent back down to NXT from the main roster who they felt were struggling to get over. This is a good idea as going back to NXT will allow talents to work on their craft in a more relaxed environment with trainers to help them or they can be repackaged before heading back to Raw or Smackdown. It would also make room on the main roster for some new NXT guys who are ready to be promoted.

I would send the following back to NXT.....

Apollo Crewes - For whatever reasons Apollo has failed to really connect with the crowd on Raw and has slipped into a low card comfort zone teaming with Titus O’Neill a role that it’s hard to see him advancing from anytime soon. Apollo has a decent look and is incredibly athletic for a big guy, part of the problem for me is that he’s too smiley happy generic babyface, he needs a edge. I would repackage him in NXT as a heel.

The Ascension - It’s gone so tragically wrong for them on the main roster, they’ve slid to the bottom of the card where they are comedy sidekicks for Breezango, they are jobbed out in any matches they feature in and it’s now impossible to take them seriously. It may be too late and a release may now be inevitable but might be worth sending them back to NXT under their original dark mysterious gimmick to try and reboot them as such.

The Revival - They are in danger of heading the same way as The Ascension, too many losses on the main roster and being used as enhancement guys for the top stars has hurt their credibility. I would send them back to NXT for a while before moving them to Smackdown.

Hideo Itami - I don’t watch 205 Live so cant comment on what he’s done there but he doesn’t seem to be in the title mix.
His time in NXT was hampered by injury, he could do with another stretch there before moving to Raw or Smackdown in the heavyweight division.

I think I would just release Hideo Itami altogether he's just too injury prone which same thing with the revival everytime they get even the barest hint of a push one of them gets injured it's made WWE hit the breaks on them completely.

Apollo Crews doesn't need to go heel he just needs to stop being the happy goofy baby face that is not meant for anything other then the midcard.

I would consider sending Nia Jax back to NXT just to focus more on her wrestling as besides her match with Ronda Rousey she just can't have a big match and no her size is not the problem it's her wrestling skill.

I wouldn't send anybody back to NXT as it's a backwards step. If they can't get over now on the main roster, another stint in NXT isn't going help, so they may as well be released.

NXT is less than an hour a week to make new stars and so bringing back people who have already had their chance there, to steal away some of that time I wouldn't be a fan of.

The wrestling world is rich with talent everywhere at the moment, so when someone struggles you can just replace them with a just as talented person, instead of giving someone chance after chance to get over.
