Fletch's note: What intrigues me about this show is how its part acting, part fly on the wall documentary so its up to you to try and sort the fact from fiction.
 
Personally I found most of the girls very unlikeable, they came across as shallow, high-maintanance and self-absorbed, plus a female Essex accent is awfull.
 
Mark is about as vain and arrogant as any bloke can be, but he is entertaining, made me laugh how he is saying he will propose to Lauren, but only if he decides to get back with her which may never happen. Confused Marks mate Arge is so far up Mark's arse he can probably see what he had for breakfast.
 
Kirk came across as a genuinely decent bloke and think Amy was out of order for rejecting his zoo-date idea which I thought was a nice way to get to know someone under pleasant surroundings.

I respect any guy who can get a lot of high-class fanny and all my girl mates want to shag him, so I think that Mark geeza is my new man icon.

I've no idea whats going on, but theres loads of parties and hotties so who cares.

Quote LOVE it or hate it, there’s no escaping the fact a second series of The Only Way is Essex will return to our TV screens this weekend.

A second helping of the controversial show will kick off on Sunday evening.

Filming of the series began this week, with the first of 14 new episodes due to air on ITV2 at 10pm.

Its first series hit the headlines last year as it transported viewers into the glamorous world of young Essex playboys and models.

This series, like the last, will be set amongs the backdrops of hangouts, including Brentwood’s Sugar Hut, as well as the WAG-frequented Faces nightclub in Ilford.

The show is narrated by Basildon girl Denise Van Outen and it lives up to the Essex stereotype, with an abundance of spray tans, hair extensions, designer watches and bottles of Cristal champagne.

Casting nights to find new stars were held in February.

An ITV spokesman kept tight-lipped about the new characters and hotspots set to feature in the new series, but promised plenty of drama.

She said: “Filming started this week. While we don’t want to spoil too much for you, we can reveal all your favourites from Nanny Pat to Kirk will be back. Plus there may well be some new eye-candy, so keep your eyes peeled.”

Despite notching up to one million viewers, the first series left thousands of Essex men and women less than pleased at the way people in the county were portrayed.

Katie Benn, 33, from Westcliff, set up a Facebook site in protest. So far 93 have signed up.

However, officials at the Essex Tourism Board were slightly happier about the show’s creation.

It said the show’s popularity was responsible for a 140 per cent increase in visitors to the county since it began.



Nice.

Decent telly (albeit car crash at times) is back.

Fuck that Lauren bitch though. Fucking moron.

Yeah quality programme, I was hooked on the first series. Its one of those shows thats so shit its good.
 
Cant see why Essex folk have a problem with the way Essex-natives are portrayed, the Essex-stereotype for years has been playboy fellas and a bunch of brain-dead bints who are all lip-gloss, designer clothes and high heels and always on the lookout for a rich bloke. People should be able to laugh at it rather than take it too seriously. Find it funny that the protest page on Facebook only got around 90 people to sign up while the official TOWIE page has thousands of people.

Random Season 2 Episode 1 thoughts......
 
Amy Childs: What a stupid bint for telling her friend Jessica Wright she needs a boob job when she clearly doesn't. She even thought Kent was in London when talking to Chloe.
 
Jessica Wright and Lucy Mecklenburgh: Still the hottest two broads on the show.
 
Mark Wright: Needs to stop moping because he's better as a playa.
 
Kirk Norcross: The car he was after is a better accessory than his bint Lauren Pope.
 
Lauren Goodger: Supposed to be a main character but no sign of the bunny boiler.
 
Sam Faiers: Still looks like a young Jocelyn Wildenstein.
 
James 'Arg' Argent: He needed to man the fuck up. He's paying for the flat so his lass Lydia should have fuck all say in how he spends his money.
 
Lydia Bright: Needs to stop being so bossy to Arg but could do with getting her boyfriend on a diet.
 
Harry Derbidge: Amy's gay cousin was in so little there isn't anything to be said about him.
 
Nanny Pat: Star of the show. How many pensioners you know who put on a cozziea and go swimming with their grandson? Also told her granddaughter Jessica she didn't need a boob job as she's a cracking pair.
 
Of the other characters I did like the playa that is Kirk's dad. I think Chloe was slightly better looking than the far car sales blonde for him.

Arge needs to diet, it wasnt clear how much weight he'd piled on until he stood up dressed in a shirt and tie, they said around 4 stone since Xmas which is loads.
He seriously needs to ditch that Lydia bint, any girl who is that insecure that she wont let you spend time with your best mate isnt worth the hassle, plus she painted the nails of her pet pig, that alone is reason to give her the old heave ho. Tongue
 
Mark is a guy who wants the comfort and security of a longterm, stable relationship, but is obviously reluctant to give up the playboy lifestyle, basically wants the best of both worlds, something I can relate to if I'm being honest. Big smile
 
No Lauren which was disappointing as I think she's the hottest broad on the show.
 
Amy actually looks much fitter when shes not wearing so much slap on her face. Sam is attractive but not really my type, actually found her sister much hotter.
 
Kirk's Dad seems like a nice, down to earth bloke who has made a success of himself, fair-play. Kirk came across a bit spoilt when they were talking, but its obvious he wants to make it on his own, hes just become to used to having the finer things in life handed to him on a plate.
Lauren Pope is not even remotely attractive and that girl who came up to Kirk's Dad at the bar is hideous looking.

I really can't stand that Amy.

It's the trout-pout and annoying as fuck accent I think. Big boobs and hot bod though, obvs.

I do need to make friends w/ Mark Wright though, he is quite probably the best wingman is the world. I imagine his pals must by rolling in fanny just by being mates with him.

I'd go as far as to say if you were in Brentwood and mentioned to a chick that you are mates with Mark Wright she would automatically show more interest in you.
 
Can't believe that Chloe's cousin who I thought looked gay was actually being eyed up by Lucy.
