Possibly too far fetched there Thun. I must admit it would be pretty damn awesome of Taker to have a second match with Punk and to have Punk go over as going over Taker will still give him so much as Taker still hasn't lost a match in 'years' (Yes we know he only wrestles once a year but think of the bragging)

Understated and Underrated.

Yeah I expect The Undertaker to maybe work Extreme Rules in a tag-match where his limitations can be covered up and his involvement can be kept to a minimum, but that's probably it for a long time.

I do wonder if having Taker work Extreme Rules is to compensate for the high likeliness that The Rock will now not be working the event after being previously advertised.

Well the segment that happened on SmackDown pretty but all officially confirmed that The Undertaker will NOT be participating in any shape, form or matter in a possible Six Man Tag at Extreme Rules. I thought this situation might occur because The Shield are just trying to make another impact, thus they will use various legends to do so. The exact same thing that we witnessed on Monday Night happened with Triple H as he was cutting a in ring promo. Team Hell No made the save and the Hounds of Justice backed off once more. Even though Taker's not going to in match, it is in the long run nothing but a good thing. Hope they decide to the belts on Shield come ER anyway.

it just seems weird to me that, if Taker was fit enough to turn up on Raw for that segment, then why not take advantage of that?

after all, 11 months off is only slightly worse than 12 months off. he would still have plenty of time to recover from whatever damage his body takes, and with it being a B-Show, he doesn't have to worry about his win/loss record, and he also doesn't have to eat the pin, but the younger talent still get the rub by the record showing they beat Undertaker.

It's a shame, adding Undertaker to the make would have really made the match at ER something special. It would also elevated the match to being co-main event status. But maybe that was something WWE wanted to avoid. Management might have felt that Team Hell No couldn't drop the titles if Taker was involved.

I'm hoping that Taker is being saved for another big match with Punk. I think it would suck if he doesn't work another match until WM30. Maybe he could just work the Big 4.

All props to LoveSongWriter

Yeah it's a shame, the Extreme Rules card originally looked set to feature The Rock, Lesnar and The Undertaker possibly, now it seems unlikely we will see any of them on the card.

Undertaker is probably now done with WWE until Wrestlemania 30. If they didn't want him wrestling against the Shield this would have been a good opportunity to book the Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar match, then Taker could have taken 11 months out to recover.

I think you might have to chew on thoughs words as I must eat my own too. The Deadman is coming to England next week...TO COMPETE! It appears as if this will his first offical match on Raw since...well I don't know the exact date, but its got to be atleast a couple of years now. Looking forward to seeing Big Evil back in action on Monday Night! Also, Lesnar issued an open challenge to Triple H to fight him inside the confines of a steel cage at Extreme Rules! Talk about unpredictable...

Quote While previous reports suggested that The Undertaker would be working Extreme Rules in order to make up for CM Punk and The Rock not appearing on the card, that appears to have changed. Due to the fact that John Cena will reportedly be ready to go for his WWE Title match with Ryback, WWE is taking him off of TV until at least SummerSlam.

The company will use the Shield's attack on 'Taker on SmackDown last week as a way to write him out for now.

-- WWE is hoping that The Undertaker will agree to wrestle at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, possible opponents for Wrestlemania XXX are John Cena and Ryback.

With The Rock almost certainly out of the picture for Summerslam now WWE need some more big names for marquee matches so it makes sense to use The Undertaker on the card. With CM Punk set to return around Summerslam time as well my guess is that WWE will book a Undertaker/Punk rematch for the show, Punk has history of being aligned with the Shield as well so it makes storyline sense.

As for Wrestlemania 30 either Ryback or Cena would be a decent opponent, but really they should do the John Cena/Undertaker match while Taker is still healthy enough and willing to keep wrestling.

If they don't get Cena/Taker at Summerslam or WM30 then they really would have missed a trick, especially given Taker is pretty much at the end, and Cena will be on the wind down in the coming years to they need to do it.

they do need big names, but they still haven't learnt; they are relying on Lesnar, Hunter, Taker, Rock, but not building new talent to fit into the full time main event scene of Cena, Punk, erm... Show?

Taker working 4 times in the space of a year is actually more exciting to me than any actual angle they could come up with for him.
