Why does TNA have a global championship? Isn't that what the TNA World Title is for?

It's like the WWE's Intercontinental Championship.

TNA should change the name to the International Championship.

The Intercontinental title is trade marked. So no.. Cant change it to that. I do think that Global is better than Legends though. The Global title is more of a title that is US vs UK storylines and China vs Russia, IDK.. But The Global title I imagine will have different kinds of people hold the title at all times. So I kinda like it. Just as long as the rule of only outside of US doesnt stand...

Yeah I thought the X-Division strap was the secondary belt, well it once was.

Global is a great way to push EY or the midcarders to become main eventers or higher midcarders. We can bring in guys in Japan and make them fight for this belt. And suburb.... its not called a world title, its a world heavyweight title.

And I agree with BFP, they should take off the "not defended in US" rule.
Guys can you help me out

well i think the only foreign defenses broadens their fanbase and causes them to travel for shows. And for our champion to defend and showcase in international federations. Like nwa dose. and legends title sounds like it would be MORE prestigous than the World Heavyweight Championship. so the name global makes sense, also makes sense for the rule.
WWF was great. WCW is better. TNA is the best. And AJ Styles has competed in all three!!!

The Global title is worth having it serves it's purpose as the Intercontinental/ United States Champion does in the WWE, it's the won you need to win before going for the World Title.

Look the X-Division title is a de facto Cruiserweight/Light Heavyweight/Junior Heavyweight title.  The Global title should be the secondary title for the heavyweights.  The "not defended in the US"
bit was more an Eric Young/World Elite bit than anything else.  This title should be used more like the US title or the Intercontinental belt.
Does anyone understand the urgent need for a sarcasm font?

surely the problem with it not being defended in the US means it won't change hands unless a PPV happens in Canada, or they start using a WWE model to international tours and records an Impact show in the Uk/Australia/Japan/elsewhere.
