I haven't watched TNA in the longest time. But out of curiosity I set the DVR to catch last week's show. There was still a fair amount of drivel, but there was also glimpses of has kept TNA going. Namely, the in-ring work.

The big shock of Jeff Jarrett's return was impressive. Especially given how he was able to talk about Global Force Wrestling. The dirtsheets have gone nuts over it. Some think that TNA & GFW have a working arraignment in place, and this is all leading up to some sort of "invasion" storyline. Others are speculatingthat Jarrett is going to buy back the company and merge it into GFW. Either way (or something else) it's got TNA some good attention.

That's pretty much my thoughts on Jarrett's return, it might be nothing more than a one-off match in a last ditch attempt to boost interest in Slammiversary or/and a plan B for this years hall of fame induction as plan A was AJ Styles who turned down the offer, but either way it's given TNA a bit of buzz and got people talking.

There are rumours of JJ buying his former company but it's more likely TNA and GFW have struck up a working relationship that will likely see talent exchanges, joint shows and possibly some sort of invasion/feud between the two companies.
At this time that would be good business, neither promotion on their own is functional on a large scale, TNA have downsized to pretty much a TV show only company now which they tape in blocks way in advance, this is why there has been a exodus of high profile talent lately as they cannot afford to keep too many top talents under exclusive deals anymore.
GFW are still in the start up stages and don't have the resources to be more than a minor league promotion alone.
So a working arrangement or some sort of merger is a win win for all concerned and should mean a better product for the people watching.

I watched one of these for the first time i can remember the other day and i've got to say i don't think much has changed. EC3 and Jeff hardy were doing the old "one wrestler owns another one and makes him do bad stuff, when's he going to break routine". Dixie Carter still seems very awkward on screen and i don't think she is suited to it at all. I don't recognise most of the other people on the show apart from Drew Mcintyre and i didn't find it all that inspiring and there are rumors of TNA losing it's tv deal? If that is so, i'm not surprised at all.

So thoughts on the World Title Series.......

1) Knockouts being involved is a stupid gimmick.

2) I'd have prefered them to have done a draw for groups instead of those with something in common being grouped together.

3) They have made Matt Hardy look shit for giving up his first ever major title just because he was being made to spend a month away.

4) When we see Poop and Josh the background is bad for the eyes.

The world title series has gone mental with 8 groups. The thing could take months to finish with only 4 group matches taking place each week. It should take six weeks just to get to the knockout stages.

I only keep in touch with TNA these days via reading online but from what I've read this World title series is a pre-taped mess. All the matches were recorded prior to Bound for Glory which happened at the beginning of the month, Matt Hardy being stripped of the world belt through ECIII getting a ''injunction'' through the courts is Russo style booking. The whole tournament is a shambles, it features women for fucks sake, I mean are TNA going to make Velvet Sky world champion??!!

Noticed that when James Storm worked a match on NXT this week the announcers said he'd been working the indies, TNA were not referred to by name which shows what WWE management think of them.

At this point TNA are a Indy fed, tv deal on life support, a severely depleted roster which has lost nearly all of its star power, a low budget look and terrible organisation and a shabby looking product.
