From what I understand WWE brass didn't really take to Chris Jericho's Cruise idea. Originally Jericho wanted b-talent from the main roster and NXT guys to be on the show instead, along with a few indie guys, but WWE turned him down and I think Jericho took offense to that a bit, so that's when he reached out to other companies. This in turn led to him establishing communication lines with these other companies and after his work in NJPW, and now his feud with whoever that guy is from Impact, it sounds like Jericho has gone rogue, and to hell with WWE.

I certainly could be wrong there, but that's what SEEMS to have happened at least.

Oh, and for the record, I would say Chris Jericho's name value has never been bigger in his entire career. He's easily in the top 5 biggest names of guys still working today, aside from maybe AJ Styles, he's probably #1.

I wouldn’t mind this happening. Jericho is in the twilight of his career, in WWE he now has little value other than being a guy who can still be entertaining but his name value isn’t close to what it was in his prime now and his role in WWE is ultimately to put others over.
There’s nothing really wrong with that but I just think at this point he is better served to help a struggling promotion where he would have some real name value.

Probably won’t happen though unless Vince has really soured on Jericho and no longer has much interest in using him.

There's no reason for Chris to come to Impact the money wouldn't be worth it and I don't think there's a lot of decent names worth going over to wrestle and potentially job out to.

Stick with WWE and NJPW Chris that's your best option there's too many guys in New Japan to wrestle to want to venture to the glorified bingo hall that is Impact wrestling.

Quote Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the belief within the business is that Chris Jericho is destined to eventually come to Impact Wrestling.

It was noted in this report that the IWGP Champion’s previous statements about not wanting to do anything that would get WWE Chairman Vince McMahon mad isn’t nearly as strong as it was months ago.

Despite him having Impact on his cruise, I still can't see him working TV for another North American wrestling company, over than E.

He's done this for two decades of playing TV wrestling companies off against eachother and yet he's always been loyal to Vince.

I expect much of the same here and think he's using Impact as a bargaining tool for a bigger slice of the E pie with the new Fox deal.

-- Despite what Chris Jericho said last week that jumping to TNA Wrestling was never an option, Jericho did in fact speak with people high up in TNA about working for them before he eventually signed a new deal with WWE. No word on why Jericho would deny it at this point but his recent comment was false.

thought so, i mean the impact zone was like 20-30 mins from his house wasnt it? on top of that the scedule is alot smaller and being a big star he would have pull behind him, he would get more time for his band and other stuff, and probally be in most of the main event matches, or close to it. it would also be a new experiance and a chance to work with some of the best young talent like aj styles, daniels, joe, kaz, harris, storm, roode, the list goes on. i also remember in an interview not far back when he was talking about working on a ring design which had five sides, then when asked about where he would be heading, he said he wasnt sure, but the 4 sided ring could never hold jericho.
Qouth the draven, nevermore.

Well, from reports i've read over the past few months, if WWE hadn't shown interest he would have jumped on the TNA bandwaggon without a second thought.

Though if he had admitted he had considered it WWE would be peeved.

How true do people actually think this is? I happen to believe that he would have genuinely been thinking about joining TNA and his interviews gave that impression as well. Of course now he's signed for WWE, he's going to say he was never interested in going to the main competition. He's not going to be silly and risk his place on the card. Now he's due back on a full time schedule anytime, he's no longer going to have proper time for his band. That is one of the things TNA will have gave him.

I think it is very true. TNA was never an option for Chris.  His dream was always to be in WWE he left of good terms.  If he had said yeah it was an option people would be mad because of that.  No matter what the wrestlers or Vince does they are damned either way.  If they do what everyone ones people still complain, sorry if I am a little defense, but I am just so tired of people whining when things are what they think they should be and accuse people of lying in interview when they know nothing about the person being interviewed.

Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Last week we made mention about TNA's offer to Chris Jericho, with him calling it cheap. He didn't mean the company was cheap, instead he meant they didn't break the bank to pay him and offer him an outrageous unable to turn down offer.
wtf? does he think they have enough money to do that? especailly with all the money they paid pacman, then they got booker, i mean what did he expect. besides i thought he said the reason he is coming back is because of his love for wrestling, not the paycheck?

Y2J would want the company that could do the most for his side projects as well. The WWE has become a multimedia empire and I wouldn't be shocked to see a WWE Films movie starring the Ayatollah of Rocknrolla himself. TNA just doesn't have the opportunity to spread Y2J around as WWE does.
