Quote Tyler Black became the new Ring of Honor World Champion at last night's eighth anniversary event in New York City, defeating Austin Aries in a re-match from Final Battle 2009.

Roderick Strong, who sat alongside Kenny King and Jim Cornette as ringside judges for the match, issued a title shot challenge to Black following the bout.

I don't think that he's going to be much of a success as the main champion.

Before last night he had only won a couple of tag team titles in ROH (damn them for getting rid of the Pure title to get someone ready for the top billing).

His size and look isn't anything special. Anyway lets see.

Black is holding the title for Strong. Wink

Give it a month or so, watch... Strong and Black are going to have a match (Very good) and then a pimp ass match after that where Strong wins the strap, cementing his name as someone who needs to be signed by TNA.

Like the old school feeling of this title match by having ringside judges, in case of a time limit draw.

Black is an impressive talent and has a good build for the moves he does...but I just don't see him as a main event wrestler in any promotion whatsoever. I'm far too used to the Jimmy Jacobs/Tyler Black combination to see Black perform so highly on his own. Jimmy Jacobs on the other hand, I can see performing as a singles wrestler, but only at a lower/mid-card role.

I'm actually going to keep an eye on Ring of Honor from now on to see what happens regarding Black's title run.

Tyler Black is a so-so champ. There are quite a bit of options in RoH none of them spectacular but they are there. There is Strong, who has challenged for the title several previous occasions, Richards, hopefully the next great indy star, and Hero, one of my personal favorites and can really work the mike.

Oh oh look at this doozy from Adders in early 2010 on Seth Rollins. LOLLOLLOL

(I just love picking on him.)

He wasn't a success as their main champion. They put the title on someone who left them the very same year. I was correct.

Correct on his size and look too. Skinny, girlie hair and whiny voice. I stand by all that.

He's a good wrestler though.
