From Jim Ross Website.......

Hi everyone and thanks for dropping by on this beautiful Sunday afternoon in Norman, Oklahoma. After taking 12 hours to get from Tampa to OKC,  it felt good to get home Friday night and enjoy a relaxing day Saturday. Our FREE J.R.'s Cap offer has been doing well and you still have time to take advantage of it today (Sunday) and remember that it is applicable with any order placed on this site only and that it also includes FREE SHIPPING in the USA.

Chael Sonnen is the underdog against the great Anderson Silva at UFC 117 but that doesn't seem to intimidate the outspoken and intelligent Sonnen. Chael, an Oregonian, sounds like he's being coached by another Oregon resident, Rowdy Roddy Piper, as Sonnen has some of the most outrageously entertaining sound bytes that I've heard in years in any genre. WWE would be a great residence for the talented talker some day when he's finished his time in the Octagon. Or perhaps UFC might want to explore the option of using Sonnen in a broadcast booth, perhaps on WEC. I would love the opportunity to either work with Sonnen on his broadcasting skills or actually work with him which my WWE arrangement allows.

Nonetheless I would not consider the upcoming Silva-Sonnen fight a layup win for "The Spider" and one could surmise that the longer the fight goes the better Chael's chances are to win it by KO or submission. If it goes to the judge's scorecards, it's usually the case that the challenger has to be totally dominate to get a favorable nod. With all that said, I would not be shocked if Sonnen upsets Anderson Silva at UFC 117 which is another reason that UFC PPV's are 'must see.'

Silva is ranked as the #1 MMA fighter in the world by Yahoo which may be arguable as GSP is ranked #2. However, Yahoo's panel's ranking of Brock Lesnar as only the 10th best MMA righter in the game is somewhat of a head scratcher.

I really don't think you can look past anything but a victory for De Silva.

Sonnen may well have the crowd behind him due to the actions of Anderson in his last contest.

Silva could bait Sonnen into doing something he didn't want to do.

Meh, Silva will be a bore and go for a UD again.

Its got a more interesting undercard, IMO, Alves v Fitch could be an 'instant classic' and I'm interested in the JDS v Nelson fight as Dana White has already said that the winner faces the winner of Lesnar/Velasquez. Should be a good fight as long as Big Country doesnt just 'do a GSP' and lie on him for 3 rounds. I was pissed when he did that to Kimbo.

Nelson to win w/ TKO to get the title shot,
Alves to split decision Fitch,
Silva to UD Sonnen.

Silva is the luckiest guy alive, he was getting clean sweeped by Sonnen by all 5 rounds until his very debatable submission win. He looked totally shit, taking clean punches flush for nearly 20 mins. Great card though, felt a bit sorry for my man Roy Nelson.

UFC President Dana White announced last night that UFC 117 drew a live gate of $1.56 million, with 12,971 people present at the event. The California State Athletic Commission will release the official numbers next week. The number of free tickets issued was not released, but based on the numbers reported the revenue per ticket was $120.27.

The UFC 117 fight night bonuses have been announced, and Anderson Silva is going home a happy man.

Silva picked up Submission of the Night for his late-fifth-round triangle choke on Chael Sonnen, and also grabbed Fight of the Night along with Sonnen for their bout.

Matt Hughes also won Submission of the Night for his modified guillotine/arm triangle choke that put Ricardo Almeida to sleep. Knockout of the Night went to Stefan Struve for his devastating second-round TKO of Christian Morecraft.

The bonuses for UFC 117 were $60,000.

That's a strong gate with many probably paying to see if Silva would fight like he did in his previous fight.

Sonnen will be pissed off at losing when being so close to a points victory.

He has surely done enough to warrant a rematch in the near future.

Clay Guida vs Rafeal Dos Anjos stole the show, in my opinion...of course, I'm a complete Guida mark, so it's a bit biased! lol

"Big Country" Roy Nelson vs Dos Santos was a bore...That fat slob Nelson was gassed after the first round...Pretty glad he lost.

Matt Hughes won again...Not suprised, since he's a beast.
BECAUSE I'M THE MEMEBER...AND I'M.....AWESOOOOOOME!!
