I was able to finish it in a couple days because the episodes are so short. It wasn't bad, IMO. Kinda fun, but I don't see any big deal about it either.

ATM I'm catching back up with DareDevil/Jessica Jones/Luke Cage/Iron Fist before Defenders is uploaded to Netflix. Love these series, and how they're all tied together. Can't wait for Defenders and Punisher.

Game of Thrones I'm watching with my older two kids, skipping some of the more adult scenes, but my son's been bugging me about it for a while now, and having seen the show already myself, I figured I could skip the more objectionable scenes and we'll be ok.

Not sure what else there is to watch really. I don't like TV very much, and when I find something good I binge watch until it's done. I was considering re-watching Stranger Things soon since the new season is coming out in October.

Maybe there's not a big fuss about Glow generally but there is within the wrestling fan circle so perhaps that's why it appears as a bigger deal to me than it actually is. But like you I've found it watchable but not much more. Other wrestling fans seem to be hyping it as some sort of Netflix classic.

Of the Marvel series' I enjoyed DareDevil and I'm looking forward to the stand alone Punisher series. But I have Jessica Jones a go and found it boring and as a result didn't really have much interest in Luke Cage. I may take a look at The Defenders though.

Yah each individual series has it's own unique flavor to the same formula.

Daredevil is a crime drama.

Jessica Jones is a Lifetime-television-for-women you-can-trust-men-because-they're-all-rapists style show. I could only tolerate that show because I like the actress that plays Jessica Jones from when she was on "Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23" and because I'm a Marvel Comics loyalist, plus they did a lot to introduce Luke Cage in that show.

Luke Cage on the other hand was definitely their BET show.

Iron Fist was... weird, but I found it pretty good too, despite the bad reviews.

Daredevil was definitely the best but I found them all to be watchable. Defenders is definitely the show to see though out of all of them.

So how did Luke Cage compare to Jessica Jones? Must admit I was put off after watching JJ as obviously Cage featured prominently in that so I was expecting more of the same really. But if you reckon it's quite different and worth a watch I may give it a go after all.
Iron Fist didn't appeal to me, don't know why but when I saw the trailers I just thought na that's not for me.

DareDevil was excellent, dark gritty and violent, Much more my bag than the usual fluff covered comic book stuff.

In order of quality it goes DareDevil>Jessica Jones>Iron Fist>Luke Cage.

So based on that and the fact I didn't like Jessica Jones definitely give Luke Cage a miss then?

I wouldn't say definitely, they are thematically different so you may enjoy it. If you have the time give the first few episodes a go, the quality is pretty throughout though it dips for the final few episodes.

Tempted to give it a look, I didn't like Jessica Jones because it just came across like some sort of girly soap at times like a rebooted Charmed or something. But the Luke Cage character did intrigue me. As I said the grittier more violent DareDevil was much more my cup of tea and I'm sure I'll enjoy The Punisher.

On a side note given up on Glow, got as far as episode 6 and it seems to have descended into complete stupidity.

Luke Cage is like Daredevil meets B.E.T. It's all about the thuganomics. XD

I'd give it a shot, and see what you think, if nothing else. Luke Cage's backstory is pretty cool, and I like the guy himself a whole lot, probably better than the Daredevil character, but the show itself isn't IMO as good.

I'm really not sure what people's problem is with Iron Fist. I think I like it better than everything except DareDevil. I mean, Danny Rand is a bit of a goofy tool, he might as well be Daniel Bryan, but he's likeable enough and ought to make for a good side-character in Defenders. I think I preferred his supporting cast to all the other's save for DareDevil. That Asian chick was both cool and cute as hell.

Plus what's-her-name nurse from DareDevil (played by Rosario Dawson) played a fairly sizeable role in both Luke Cage and Iron Fist, so it's got added interest there as her sub-story plays out.

IMO it's DareDevil>Luke Cage=Iron Fist>Jessica Jones

I think Jessica Jones will get better however. I think the mindfuck rapist villain was the main reason that show was so poor to begin with because I really like the character, in the comics she ends up as Luke Cage's wife so you might see more of that storyline come to fruition, and with a different villain that isn't quite so girlie-soap opera stupid and more interesting, then it ought to be a lot better. Jessica, her adoptive sister, and Luke Cage were all pretty good characters, I would also expect to see more from Rosario Dawson (because why not???) and maybe even that Asian chick introduced in Iron Fist (who is definitely my Asian chick of choice at this point) as well. It would keep with the theme of being a more female centric show, while fitting into the marvel/Netflix universe as Luke Cage would be the only major male character on the show.

~~~~~~~~
Game of Thones Spoiler:
That Asian chick I mentioned from Iron Fist? Her name is Jessica Henwick. She was born in England, but she looks Chinese. She also played one of the Sand sisters/bastards that died on the last episode of Game of Thrones during the sea battle. Nymeria Sand eldest daughter of Oberon Martell and one of those sand snake assassins.
Gave episode 1 of Luke Cage a look and while I enjoyed the grimey ghetto theme I still found myself uninterested by about the halfway point of the episode so don't think I'll bother.
