I've been thinking of this for a while but what do you all think of rating a wrestlers performance for a PPV starting with extreme rules I think it can rate for some good discussion and could help with activity.

Thoughts ?

I'd go for a 1-10 rating on various categories that add up to an aggregate score.

IE technical performance, entrance, psychology/selling, mic/after match performance (if applicable - 5 by default when not applicable).

So for example let's say Seth Rollins has a match, and puts on a generally good show but there are areas where he did better than in others, you can break it down something like this:

Entrance: 7- All the standard stuff, nothing special but not lacking anything either
Technical: 9- not only did he not injure anyone, but he was on fire and could have carried a broom to a great match.
Psychology/Selling: 9 - He sold like a boss, told a good story, everything he did made sense.
Mic/After match: 8 - After the match when he got screwed out of the title he cut a great promo that saved him from looking like a total weakling and now looks like he might get the title back right away, and now I'm looking forward to the rematch.
Aggregate score: 33 (out of 40)

In addition Finn Balor, Seth Rollins hypothetical opponent in the match got something like this:

Entrance: 10 - He came out as the demon, and looked badass. Big surprise to see him as the demon again.
Technical: 6 - He botched his finisher and missed Rollins almost completely but Rollins had to sell regardless because that was the finish.
Psychology/selling: 9 - He sold every bit as well as Rollins, told a great underdog story where I really bought into his leg injury, and worried he might be legitimately injured, the back and forth was awesome.
Mic/After match: 5 - not applicable.
Aggregate score: 30

Meanwhile in a Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar match, it'd break down to something like this:

Roman Reigns
Entrance: 8- Started out as the same old stuff, good entrance, but when the crowd reacted so negatively he trolled them well and they looked like they were going to riot.
Technical: 4- clotheslines, clothesline, clothesline, clothesline, clothesline, driveby, superman punch, spear, 1-2-3.
Psychology/selling: 4- wasn't much of a story, he sold about as well as a 3 move superman would be expected to sell
Mic/after match: 10- Fuck yeah! The Shield are back together!
Aggregate score: 26

Brock Lesnar
Entrance: 6- same old stuff, never was the best entrance, and now there's no pyro either.
Technical: 8- brutal as always, left Reigns a bloody pile, not sure if a shoot.
Psychology: 3- For being the champion he is just as one dimensional as Reigns, and overhyped, plus the match was ridiculously short for a main event match.
Mic/after match: 9- Heyman knocked it out of the park, can't wait for Strowman to squash them both and take the title.
Aggregate score: 26

People could do it their own way unless you're looking at doing it over a set period of time to see a total stand out performer.

Maybe a rating out of 10 and an explanation as to why you voted that I don't want to see john Cena 3 out 10 because fuck John Cena

Some sites when they post reviews of PPV’s for example give a marks out of 10 rating for each match, that’s not a bad system to use but I do like the idea of marking each wrestler for different categories like storytelling, ring work, entrance, engaging the crowd etc.

People are also guaranteed to vote lower for wrestlers they don't like regardless of anything else. For example, I'd give Ciampa's entrance a 10 because, I mean, it' a 10. If he then makes the main roster with the same entrance (WWE won't risk it but humour me) a fan unaware of his activities in NXT would probably rate that at a 1 or 2 because where's his music?

Isn't that the point though? Especially if they're saying WHY? The why is important and the fans opinions in a thread like this is important. I mean, this isn't a vote by popularity how WWE needs to book their shows, this is how do you set up a rating system by the fans. It's not meant to be objective.
