I thought i saw a post on here with the same title but after looking for a while i couldnt find it so ive started a new one.

It seems more suited now to post this than maybe previously.

Are WWE and The Indies (inc AEW for now) at war with each other?

i know each is putting out there that they are alternatives, entertainment, pure wrestling but it seems as though they are all having a go at each other now - it seems to me at least that by AEW saying they will focus on wrestling and the fact they are the elite - this seems to have upset alot of people, not just WWE guys.

Taking AEW out of it for a moment, Will Ospreay is currently in a twitter war with Rollins because of a post Rollins sent out aimed at Moxley for slating WWE.

It seems that, including in program references / easter eggs - that everyone is fired up and although it would seem clear that the wrestling world is at war with each other - this is also benefiting them because there is now a drive from everyone to bring the sport back to its glory days and even possibly surpass them.

More and more talent are posting online /talking about the sport and emphasising the word "wrestling". This shouldnt seem strange but given that alot of these guys/girls are from WWE who focus more on "entertainment' - its obvious to everyone that wrestling is what everyone wants.

There seems to be more cross promotional stuff happening outside of WWE and it may not necessarily be true but it does seem to me that everyone is working together to bring their promotions to the forefront and try to use the WWE name/brand/exposure to do that.

WWE is clearly retaliating in small bite sizes, with the NXT Takeover card recently, the improved TV matches and improved PPV matches (some improvements at least) yet they are always sandwiched in with senseless or devoid storytelling and lack of meaningful storylines.

It looks as though a lot of people are seeing the rise of the indies, especially the recent formation of AEW as a threat and many WWE talent do not want AEW to be seen as the "best wrestling" show, however with Vinny Mac still in charge at the E, there is always going to be more of a focus on the younger demographic and therefore lack of focus on wrestling.

I may have rambled a bit here but with everything ive seen on the shows recently, online tweets, interviews, breaking of character/kayfabe - it looks to be like we now have a bit of a war on our hands in the pro wrestling world, yet not many will admit to it but do however seem to be participating in it.

I wouldn't say it's war but WWE are definitely making changes to their programming in a effort to stop fans deserting them for AEW, they can't ignore the buzz and the phenomenal ticket sales the AEW shows have had so far.

Stomping Grounds had poor ticket sales with parts of the arena cordoned off to try and hide it, meanwhile All Out sold out in 15 minutes and some reports have suggested that over 100'000 people looked to purchase tickets to the event.

WWE have introduced the 24/7 belt clearly in a effort to feature more talent and recapture some of the Attitude Era magic.
They also seem to be featuring better wrestling matches on weekly tv and even at Stomping Grounds the in ring action appeared less restricted with everyone going all out to have a great match.

This is great though as I've always said that what I wanted was for AEW to push WWE to be better.

WWE are now airing an EVOLVE event on the WWE Network on the same day as fight for the fallen ... yet theres no competition???

This sort of rivalry is what pro wrestling has missed

Kenny Omega is not happy as he feels WWE are trying to undermine a charity event.

I do get where hes coming from because they are airing another promotions event that theve never done before... it's not as if it's a WWE PPV or anything

WWE have a strong working relationship with Evolve and this is their 10th anniversary show, why not air it on the Network and give them some exposure?

I think Kenny was being a little bitch here and the more I learn about Kenny Omega at the moment the more I'm starting to dislike him. Maybe it does seem like a low blow to try and compete against a charity event but fans can easily watch both shows as that's the beauty of modern technology and streaming platforms like the WWE Network, also I can't see Evolve stealing too much focus from the AEW event unless you really are that much of a die hard Evolve fan.

Thing that bothers me is when promotions take shots at WWE or use tactics to try and compete with them everyone praises them for it, WWE do one thing that might not even make a difference and all of sudden Vince is the devil. It's the same with how everybody loves Moxley because he did podcasts pretty much burying the company that made him a household name, but now everyone hates Seth Rollins because he praised the WWE product and stood up for the company that his livelihood depends on, I mean how dare he!

It's a moot point anyways because if anyone remotely even thinks Evolve will impact the All Out.viewing figures then they are sadly mistaken.

Was listening to the Wade Keller podcast and he made a good point in that if this AEW event is giving ticket proceeds to charity then really what difference does it make that a Evolve show screens the same day?

People are going to tune into Fight for the Fallen regardless of Evolve so I don't get any argument other than WWE taking a very soft jab at them, well get used to it Kenny because that's going to get a lot worse trust me.

The tweet could have and probably was a way to add intensity to the rivalry.

WWE will up their game but so will AEW.

All In was the best wrestling event of the year - easily

The next main event is All Out and already the matches set for that are great plus there the added "will punk show up" interest as well as other previously released superstars from other companies.

What was already said ages ago about this not being direct competition was an obvious lie, as was the statement made that WWE would brush AEW off.

What we are on the verge of is a fantastic rivalry ensuring top top wrestling content.

I say the more moves like this the better if it means we get the interest and the focus on quality wrestling that weve been getting from both sides lately.
